ITB's simple question (i hope)
richardc9052 replied to Sparkythestarlet's topic in Intake, Turbo & Exhaust
Yeah! especially if you got an ep80r 1.0 carb shell! 740kgs. Basically ep70 weight. Not sound proofing, lighter everything! Thats what i had and eventually went 4efe-t with. Its amazing what losing a few kgs can do! -
Try a new cts sensor. also did you disconnect the map sensor at all? that should also give a full rich mixture. see if that changes afr. but theres a high possibility its your cts.

I didnt unfortunately as i did it all myself and it never saw a rolling road. It was enough to keep with 20v Ae111 levins anyway If i where to do it again i would be using a jap 100ps engine with a 4efte loom and ecu. The engine can rev to 7200 as standard so you dont have to worry about valve float etc and the turbo ecu has a fairly aggressive off boost map that works spectacularly with them -

As above Triumph tt600 are the easiest to fit. i had a set on my 4efe. i just cut a standard mani and rounded the ports to fit then used silicone joiners. Bracket for the throttle body, small bit of tin, even a bit of a can of coke will do to fit the TPS to the itbs. Then you have to drill and tap the runners to fit vac points. Using a vac rail then connect map sensor and brake booster. You can also buy an idle control valve that sits in the old throttle body coolant lines and connect the vac side to the rail. Then map! -

The only reason i can think youd be worried is, wheels are too -
Yeah if theres is rubbing on that setup its because your absolutely slammed without an adj panhard rod and it will only be rubbing on one side lol. they will be spot on mate.

Try putting a standard pump back in and see how it runs.

There are loads of options for 14" tyres! all the tyres that are mentioned here come in 14" apart from the parada spec 2. Uniroyal Rainsports would be a much better option if your sticking to a normal road tyre like the T1r. -
Yeah custom is the only way really! 2" pipe is cheap enough too! Plus, im sure you will have a buyer for the exhaust you currently have fitted when you do.
-
Yes that will give you low down but you will lose upper rpm power. a smaller free flowing diameter exhaust would be better as none of the gases will be getting caught up in silencers or bungs. It creates a turbulent flow which isnt power efficient. (i dont mean to go on about it but you will notice a massive difference when you do change it)

I had use of a mates gt.. still completely standard engine wise bar exhaust and intercooler.. still standard boost and it it just understeered like mad with t1r's.. The NS-2R are a very good tyre. mate has them on an mx5 for track days and they are actually used as a control tyre in a few race series. Brand snobbery will stop people who havent used them from agreeing... -
Thats fair enough! i was lucky enough to be able to make my own.. bought the piping and bends off a friend that he had left over. cost me 50 euro all in so about £35-40. It is the best exhaust diameter for the n/a. it pulled loads better than the larger 2.5" turbo system i had modded to fit. Also the 4-2-1 manifold makes similar gains. i modded one off an AE111 4age to fit.

NS-2R Street compound. Ill be buying a set myself. Lots of good reviews. . T1-R are good but way over rated and are just a normal road tyre. Cannot comment on Parada spec 2 although on my research travels regarding the NS-2R's i read quite a few comments on the Parada's being quite shit in the wet compared to the NS-2R. although even the NS-2R wont be as good in the wet as the average road tyre due to the semi slick design.. -
Blow by from ringland failure most likely
-
ignition overhaul would not have included main distributor unit..
-
Exhaust wise, i did mention to you at some point that the best setup for 4efe n/a is 2" straight through using a 4-2-1 manifold. A;so because of the size its not overly loud once you have a rear box. You are 100% losing power with that big an exhaust.
-
Gas-adjust shocks for the back are stiff but they only fit the back. not sure what you could use for the front..
-
No. It would cause lag and bad MPG but not what you are describing
-
Change the distributor. sometimes the cam sensor in them fail. You can keep your cap and rotor, its the main unit that needs changing if it is. Best to try one off another gt to test first.
-
Im sure there is a bigger brake booster you can fit from another toyota from the same era that would help with that but with twinpots it wont feel any different although you will need to apply less pressure to achieve the same results with the standard brakes.
-
Might not be the actual; knock sensor though. make sure to check for damage along the blue shielded cable to the knock sensor. You can buy a length of shielded wire to replace it and just run a whole new wire from the ecu to the sensor if there is any damage.
