  1. I would be travelling from Hull
  2. Thanks for the advice rich, i need to have a good practise at flatting/buffing. I can get the panel nice and flat without burning through, but i can never get it to buff up properly
  3. I use Park Engineering in Malton. Used them for the overhauled engine thats in my advance. Crank reground and polished, head skimmed, rehoned bores etc. They were spot on and it's still fine 2 years later
  4. Found the reason why my red GT does this now... Turns out the distributor is arcing out. I was bleeding the coolant system up with wet hands and i got a good belt off it. I've got the little sachet of water resistant dielectric grease that came with my magnecores though so i'm going to try that.
  5. I run KYB gas shocks (can't remember the make of the springs) and theyre really good. Not too hard. might need something stiffer if you plan on going on track but they give a decent ride on the roads.
  6. Once i get my EP70 finished i might have to revive my glanza, what's your advice on smoothing the car over? just filler/block? the reflection is perfect on yours
  7. thanks marc! started stripping the bay last night to get it ready for paint. can't believe how little engine loom there is on these!
  8. To be fair, i have genuine livesports wings on my advance and i know that lew (who i bought them from) had them sprayed/fitted in a bodyshop and even those needed some work to fit right and they were brand new items! Can't comment on cruise though. Any fiberglass panels are usually going to need some work to fit.
  9. Haha i did the same nearly broke my finger in the process. Undo the bleed nipple and fit it with it open, then bleed it through and nip it back up.
  10. Can't wait to get it sprayed and put back together, then it will just be the engine, rear axle and brakes!
  11. Finally managed to get the engine out tonight. I struggled a fair bit taking the hubs off and cracking the driveshaft nuts off. Managed it all myself apart from Sam having to jump on the breaker bar to get one of the shaft nuts off. I don't think some of those bolts had been off since it was built in 1987 haha. Bloody tight doesn't even come into it! But got there in the end! Here's me looked exhausted after getting the last strut/hub off. Then after I got back from seeing to the horses out came the engine! Taking the engine itself out was easier than taking the hubs off! Out with the
  12. It's fighting back! As I would say haha. Don't be beaten, you'll get it sorted. Cleanliness and thoroughness is the key.
  13. Whip crank out, take it a machine shop and get it measured, polished or reground and polished if it's out of tolerance. Genuine Toyota bearings and some engine assembly lube. Exactly what I did with the advance engine (after it melted the Pistons courtesy of TD) Done 40000 mile in it since the overhaul and it's sweet as a nut. Ended up with 0.25 oversize big ends. Mains and thrusts were fine.
  14. Managed to get the top side of the bonnet sprayed tonight Hoping to get the doors and front valence done next, then just the body to spray. Also aim to drop the engine asap and get started on the bay. A friend has borrowed the engine crane for the time being though so may have to just drop the engine on the floor haha
  15. You can reply to posts and PM sellers, but to advertise you need to be a paid member
  16. I find it so satisfying undersealing a car. I don't know why, maybe i'm just weird.
  17. First thing i got rid of on all of mine was the under tray. mega annoying. Just saves getting an engine bay full of shit, but i'd rather that than have to tackle the guard every oil change etc. Which bumper bolts? speak to matt (Socks) he may be able to sort you out with a set of bumper bolts
  18. Yeah when the bottom end went on my Advance i managed to just wet and dry the crank with very fine (2000-3000grit sandpaper) and fit new bearings and it was fine. was only a very very slight knock though on mine. I've since done the bottom end on my glanza twice, both times on that it was too far gone and a new set of bearings didn't save it. The way i saw it was it's £60 for a new set of bearings or £500 for another engine/rebuild. worth trying some bearings first i suppose. If it's knocking bad though i doubt you'll save it (I can't see the video on my MOD computer so cant hear it)
  19. Looks awesome i think the varis spoiler looks much better than the livesports spoiler on a glanza, looking forward to seeing it in paint! Wheels look awesome too!
  20. Little bit more progress Took the bonnet off and started to prep the underneath for paint. It was horrendously dirty/oily and covered in years and years worth of crap. Plenty of panel wipe and elbow grease... Primer... And then I painted it silver base, then went over the silver base with a purple pearl. Hard to get decent photos of the purple pearl flip but it does look subtle but sexy in person! Didn't come out too bad considering the state it was in. Few bits dropped in it but unless you're spraying in a booth it's going to happen, let alone spraying in an old chicken s
  21. haha someone should come grab it before it goes to scrapyard. If i trusted myself and had the time, i'd make something funny with it, like put wheels on an old metal bath tub and strap it to that, but unfortunately i don't have time
  22. I think it's a 4 speed Phil and if it is its a C140, if it's a 5 speed it's the C150. i will check tonight
