  1. Ive had a few 4efe corollas, they can get decent mpg if driven slowly. A d4d corolla (newer shape than mine) is very eco.
  2. What was stopping it? Was it just spinning? Try and mash an allen key socket of the same size into the headbolt with a hammer.
  3. The bolts are M9 but if theyre rounded smash a M10 in.
  4. Found that thread where Jamie took out the 282s and put in some 244s instead. http://www.ukstarletowners.com/topic/57173-jamies-335bhp-white-gt/page-15 Maybe worth a quick look, nobody seems to really rate starlet cams.
  5. Was a build on here last year and the dude took his big spec cams back out to get better driveability. Cant mind the username bht it was a white GT mapped by TD.
  6. Thats all it takes dude just a bit extra boost. Also watch not to go too near the redline to often, 8.5k or whatever JAMs run at seems a bit high for a standard engine, maybe when they were only a couple years old it wasnt so bad but these are old engines now with less and less replacements about. Enjoy the P&P though, they are pretty good for the money
  7. Theres been a couple threads recently where people have been wondering if their athena is actually genuine, premature gasket failure and or oil leaks around the head.
  8. Ave got one of those aswell, they fit alright and look the part and dont cost a fortune
  9. I know these are not quite in the same league as the focus RS.. but the last few John Cooper Works Minis have been quality wee motors. Theyre a bit gay looking though and wouldnt have one but handling wise theyre bang on.
  10. Weld it around the collector. Have a look at some EWG manifolds to get an idea.
  11. Sounds like you need just the engine ancillary loom. With it being a Glanza engine you might find the sensors and plugs on the thermostat housing are slightly different, or it might have the a GT thermo housing fitted and everything will match.
  12. Which part of the loom are you swapping? The engine ancillary loom from a MK3 should plug into a MK2 engine fusebox, just be aware that you do get different multiplugs on starters and alternators from year to year. Also if one car has ABS the washer pump wires will need extended, or the bottle relocated. A MK2 has different headlight plugs so the front part of the engine bay loom is different. Also where the engine loom comes up from the fusebox and into the car there are 3 large plugs which go into the dash loom on the NS, 1 of those plugs has more or less pins and doesnt fit.
  13. There is literally no point whatsoever the drums will be fine.
  14. That happens at full chat (mostly) done it a couple times now myself
  15. Seen people cut an inner bike tube and tie wrap round the threads. I sprayed mine with carlube grease and theyve been fine for a year
  16. I look forward to firing the 4 point lower brace on! If it will clear the transfer box? Not sure though. Already getting the exhaust modified for the FARB so i'll get it to clear the 4 point too. Also for anyone else with a 4paw as for RARB im gonna try an ultra racing AE86 one, it looks fairly similar, and its 22mm or something.
  17. Should be done as soon as the car is lowered, to align the back end and get the thrust angle to 0°
  18. Braces are braces imo, others might tell ya different. A 3 point rear might be better than a 2. One of those 3 point front braces that bolt to the bulkhead might be better than a 2, if you can find one, cant even remember who made them now. Carbon cusco braces will probably be better than their older styles.
  19. I did write personal preference for these mods in the 1st reply. They do create a twitchy rear end and lift of oversteer, not a mod for everyone.
  20. My ep85 came with an OEM RARB but its only 12mm and ive seen thicker bits of string. Didnt come with an OEM FARB though which was odd, had to source one from a sportier 4paw.
  21. When i had my first GT i put an adjustable ARB on the back and set it to the stiffest setting, ot did make a good difference to the stiffnes of the rear especially with a cusco rear brace. Get ready for lift off oversteer Only thing is it corroded and flaked. If ever getting one again it would be an ultra racing RARB. Ive got one of those ultra racing 4 point lower front braces to fit but obviously cant say what differencr it'll make it it goes on.
  22. Can the tial not be bolted the other way, hows clearance then?
