  1. Running no lambda and a faulty one are 2 different things. If there's no lambda plugged in then the ecu knows that and runs a slightly richer map for safety. If the lambda is faulty giving wrong readings then the ecu will try to fuel according to that reading. My lambda sensor was reading rich constantly so my ecu was underfuelling the car causing it to run like shit. Unplugged the sensor and it ran fine.
  2. I'm with Hertz, best price and service so far. Greenlight are also OK but they wouldn't cover my other half who was 35 at the time with 1 minor accident 4 years before so switched to hertz and they had no issues. Word of advice with flux, they can be total cunts if you ever cancel the policy halfway through. Wanted to charge me 10 months of the policy when i was only 7 months in, loads of phonecalls with managers who couldn't explain why I was to pay so much. I cancelled mine since i got a quote off greenlight for £450 compared to the £850 i was paying with flux
  3. Totally man, it's an uphill struggle but keep at it! No better feeling
  4. I bought a "low mile" and hugely over priced starlet from them in 2012 which had been in a front end smash, would avoid. They also told me it had never been raced in Japan and in the boot was a ton of lap time stickers. Cowboys

  6. Guy i know has a 98 polo 1.9 diesel he got for £400, seems to do pretty good mpg. Almost as good as my 2013 polo 1.2 tdi
  7. Not got the car mapped yet dude, started a full custom loom and its taken much more time than i imagined. Life, weather and work has been getting in the way of getting much done recently. Will update this post when its mapped
  8. Aw really? I hadn't used it personally myself so that's a shame to hear
  9. Magnecor do a custom lead ordering service, they might supply the parts you need or for make up leads to your specification. Probably not that cheap mind you
  10. If you have a multimeter you can test if the igniton is working. If it's not getting any power then I'd try and trace the wire to see if it's been cut or damaged. There might be a relay somewhere for the headunit, not sure.
  11. Hi mate, The colours seem to match up ok for power and ground. Did you remove the negative cable from your battery before doing this? If not then if certain wires touched you could have caused a short which might have blown the fuse or knackered the stereo. Best check with a multi tester your getting power to the ignition wire Not sure if the crimp butt connectors are the correct size or not but I would have used red crimps which are suitable for 0.5 - 1.5mm² gauge wire.
  12. Sweet man! You going to replace the decal once painted?

  14. Yeah ground offset could be your issue. You probably want to ground all these things at the same point http://www.innovatemotorsports.com/resources/grounding.php
  15. Awesome build man! Absolutely rattling through this project. Standard fuel pressure should be 2.3 bar
  16. I've just done something similar on my engine loom but I just cut the plugs off what I'm not needing and followed the wires back to the fusebox and removed the pins. It's a lot of work, takes hours just getting the loom out the car then unwrapping the tape and conduit Not actually finished yet so only time will tell if I've cut something out I shouldn't have
  17. Ha where did you get that guide? That's awesome!
  18. From experience I would say it's worth the wait to do it right. Express postage surely wouldnt take too long?
  19. More progress So far got the air temp, coolant temp, map, fuel pressure sensor and boost solenoid circuits heat shrinked and crimped on the connectors. Also ran fan output to the fan relay, one of the 2 grounds and power to the ECU. Today's job will be tps, can lambda, ground, cel, tachometer, injectors and ignition wiring. Still loads to do
