Nanglebadgers work in progress

errrmmmaaagggeerrrdddd...I actually ordered a thing for this car.

Grey dash mat ordered from Australia - not to everyone's tastes I know, but after seeing one in Joel's Chaser, and looking at the frankly SHITE job I did of drilling my dash, I think this is the best solution to tidy and smarten things up.

Phil.

Got a link matey? :)

If you type "Toyota Starlet dash mat" into eBay it gives a couple of colour options from 2 different companies.

Update

She might still be tucked away in a shed that's nowhere near my house and thanks to some time wasting assholes fucking me over on our house move, she is now destined to be stuck there for longer than I anticipated, however some progress still continues in the background.

Dash mat has arrived from Australia - just needs some large strips of velcro and straightened out a bit, and then an afternoon with a stanley blade awaits for fitting:

And I've been hankering to treat her to something else recently, and with some birthday monies to be spent, a quick message to Jayz Garage secured these two beauties for the dash:

Slowly, slowly.

Update

Brackets for DIN boxes have been sourced and just need collected from Hookie (NorthStars FTW!)

Should be pulling the trigger on some Rainsport 3s for the Rays soon too all being well, which is FAR sooner than I ever anticipated but will be one of the more sizable expenses off the to-do list.

Nope. Last time I ventured away from Uniroyals it turned out to be an expensive mistake (Continentals).

Lesson learnt - stick to what I know works. I dont ever plan to let her see rain again, but should I get caught out, Rainsports perform superbly in both wet and dry, and most of the NorthStars are of the same opinion.

If it aint broke, dont fix it. Uniroyals.

Indeed bud, although the fact its still tucked up elsewhere is driving me fucking potty.

Those who follow my IG feed will also have seen the Christmas present I bought her - a rather mint looking CleanAce courtesy of Jayz Garage! Will likely order some tyres following pay day.

Update

Picked up the Christmas present as well as some other goodies from the Costa Del Vogie yesterday: double din brackets for the two boxes, Motorfan magazine and MINT condition brochure for my specific model and colour. As always, big thanks to Jay! And thanks to Hookie for the brackets!

Update

Well blow me down with a feather, an actual update.

GaragEP Global HQ recently relocated back to the beautiful Antrim Coast and yesterday we took advantage of the lovely warm dry weather to go and fetch Project BadgerSport and dig her out from her cave. Started first time as always, and other than a sticky caliper that soon worked its way loose, all was well.

Naturally the urge to get stuck in was strong, so a couple of changes were immediately made in the sunshine (note, I have NO idea why these images are rotating when they upload as the original files arent rotated - apologies).

Before - tidy enough but far from perfect, terrible gaps, just a bad fitment:

And after - much better:

Then it was onto the interior lighting arrangements; to date this has been the stock UK spec dome light but with a somewhat out of date blue LED arrangement ("Oh dear Phil, you're in your 30s now!" I hear you cry), time for something from the options catalogue:

Just a note for anyone thinking of a Clean Ace for their UK spec, be aware that the mount on the roof and the bracket for the Clean Ace do not tie up at all, clearly the GT and/or V mounts are a more substantial item than the UK specs - this required some DIY bodgery to fit.

Dash mat and gold tape and Meisters and a good clean and maybe swapping on the Rays as well as the lower arms etc etc etc all to tackle now that she's finally home. Anyone who wants to come assist with any of those tasks will be renumerated with hot beverages.

Update

Fairly productive weekend this week - I had wrapped the cold side FMIC intake pipe in gold reflective tape earlier in the week so refitted that, along with a brand new battery (AT LAST!! Only took about 5 years) and an RW Developments battery clamp I've had knocking about for years too that I had powder coated last year.

I also stood pondering where else to apply some tape so ended up doing the EFI pipe too - not just as neat as the job on the FMIC pipe due to the contours on the rear of the EFI pipe but still tidier than some of the crease-jobs you see online:

Then it was time for some spacers - the Volks are great, but have always sat in too far, as you can see here with my weak stance game:

post-51-0-25764400-1498461060_thumb.jpg

My brother had a set of spacers that were 5mm at the rear and 2.5mm at the front (brand unknown) so I thought I'd try them out - pretty pleased with the results considering they cost me nothing, and certainly a noticable improvement to the position of the wheels:

I apologise again that the pics are auto-rotating. Trisk is looking into this error and hopefully can resolve it ASAP as its annoying AF.

Still plenty to do to get her ready for MOT, but the jobs on the to-do list are slowly being ticked off.
