I've been doing a lot of research on track tyres the past few days; Federal 595RSRs and Advan AD08s have had rave reviews but aren't cheap!I used prada SPEC 2's at my home track of Ty Croes and as said above the rubber just didn't last, I then bought some R888 and ad08's partially used off flee bay and found them to be fantastic compared to the spec2's but price wise there handy

If you're after a cheap tyre, paradas all the way. If you're after a top tyre, ad08s is where it's at 👌

AdamB
Just read the whole thread dude, its come a long way and is looking awesome Shame about all the mishaps but glad you got over them!Jamie what tyres are you using and how have you found them? I'm looking at tyres to use on my GT on track in the Summer. I used T1-Rs before which were crap and started melting lol. I've used Rainsport 2s which were really good on my NA but after about 15mins the grip started dropping off. Been reading around and Parada's haven't got great reviews either (they're said to overheat as they're too soft). I'd love some Yoko AD08s but can't go spending £300 on tyres Change to a 205 profile tyre mate, it will disperse heat better than a

AdamB
Don't lower the car much then I'm sure most people have their arches rolled nowadays anyway so shouldn't be a problem. I've seen a glanza with a 225 tyre on
Amjad
Yeah I like my car to be lowered a nice amount, but I think paradas aren't available in

Amjad
Nice update! How much of a decrease in temps have you seen with the inlet gasket? Seeing that you got a baffled sump has me worried for my track session this year, should I get one? Trying to sort some sort of oil cooling (cooler or a filterrelocation to a cold feed), but would a baffled sump be recommended?

Jamie1st
Sweet Jamie JohnSweet Jamie John Cheers John Nice dude Thanks mate Ace jamie!! Followed alot of this on insta Yeah I've noticed, thanks dude Great update! Shame it took so fucking long Haha, it has taken a while, I've got more updates to finish when I get a chance! Not sure by how much Amjad, but to touch with the hand it's alot cooler after a spirited drive! With regards to the oil cooler, I would say on your NA you should be ok? But when boosted, I feel it's 100% required, once Oil get too hot, it looses its viscosity and lubrication characteristics! Again, the baffled sump is something I wanted for peace of mind, when I blew the standard engine it was due to oil starvation once side of the bearings, however, my oil was low, and it was a long fast corner. If you're Going for anything like R888 spec tyres, again I feel the extra grip when pushing it hard round a corner could soon cause problems with the bottom end. Have a word with dean and tell Him I've sent you along, he'll sort it for you Good Work Jamie! Jamie1st
After Fastshow, I had an engine management light appear, turned out to be a knock sensor fault. Nipped over to see Chris Moorly and Jack Harrison and got one off Chris's old engine, fitted it and all the problems were gone (cheers lads ) Also managed to get this bucket at a steal of a price, brand new, been kept in storage for a few years. Cobra Suzuka: Should hopefully be having Dean @ RW Developments fit it for me before Japfest @ Coombe I also thought it was time to give it abit more of an aggressive look again, so I re-fitted the carbon bonnet, looks much better in my opinion! Here's a few shots of it. After alot of hard launches, and a fuck up by me (slipped second gear alot whilst trying to keep up with an evo VI running over 500bhp from a stand still, yep he left me haha), i had a horrendous noise when ever i was on the biting point of the clutch. Drove fine, and didn't slip at all, but I thought it was best I checked it, so the next day I whipped the box out to find this.. The clutch has obviously got mega hot from me slipping it, and in 2 parts, a piece of the friction plate welded it's self to the flywheel and pressure plate! Initially I thought I would replace the clutch, but it drove 100% fine, so all I did was clean/rub down the flywheel and pressure plate, de-glazed the friction plate and re-fitted it. Driving spot on again now, so thought I would take a ride into town to get some pics at 2am My skirts were looking a little worse for ware, so I set about repairing them, Looks alot better, I didn't have the correct silver at hand so I used what I had, however, they have lasted all of 1 week, and they're fucked again! Next time I will use fibreglass as it should hold up better than the filler! While I was there, I cleaned/painted my rear beam Also gave the wheels another clean My old E30 drift slag has now been sold However, before it went, I got hold of a twin for my Glanza. Needs abit of work doing to it, but when I have the time I'll get it looking tidy and maybe use it as a daily, or let the mrs use it for abit! It's got an immaculate carbon bonnet fitted to it, so I will change this with the one that I've currently got on mine thats damaged. http://s81.photobucket.com/user/jamie1st/media/A93A364B-8F0C-4C5F-BCBC-CF83C34C2290-2886-000001B4F5C61413_zpsad8cc553.jpg.html'>http://s81.photobucket.com/user/jamie1st/media/771EF279-9B7A-4599-B2E8-DF0EA6E5D870-2886-000001A4D732E892_zpse0afab57.jpg.html'> The other day I noticed that my screamer pipe had started to crack all the way down, took a stead drive over to Dean (RW Developments) for him to weld it up, ready for the JDMC meet at Dudley. All sorted now, and shouldn't fall off like has happened in the past lol Also purchased this C-Pillar brace off Ty, when it came, I thought it was miles too short, however, after speaking to Ty, It all made sense how it fitted. Sorry for jumping at you dude Here's some shots of it fitted I love it! I'll get the half cage painted and put back in hopefully before Japfest next weekend, it's currently bright orange so would look shit with the green! Also came home to some new rubber!! Can't wait to try them Looking forward to this years shows! Edited May 3, 2013 by Jamie1st
