Crooks stanced now going for big power build
morgey replied to Crooks's topic in EP91 Glanza Progress Blogs
This car has been doing the rounds! Every day on facebook it crops up 3-4-5 times a day minimum! Personally one of my fav looking V's and im not usually one for stance! Cant believe how much its changed haha -
Already linked to build mate

Blue gtt here http://www.ukstarletowners.com/topic/53243-jakes-blue-track-slag-ep82/
-
Im sure a lad on here is doing a track build on a gt in that blue colour. He's fully welding the shell
-
He reckons it only does it when its cold, so it not water in the scuttle pannel . he's also just had a headgasket changed on it as the person above tried flushing the matrix with a hose and having the front end lifted right up to try get the air out. Only wants to sell it but is reluctant too with it doing that lol
-
Anybody find a cure for this. My dads mate has an old supra with this problem, tried flushing the matrix numberous time and no luck.

was back on the road now back off the road :(

My cars mot is forever running out, swear it comes around twice as quick as my other one! Drove around for months not knowing it had ran out, ended up with a £60 fine haha -
No serious, i cant see how a rock hitting your sump can affect the p/s pump which is completely out the way, you can see it in your last pic next to the manifold. The tensioner wheel sits below the p/s pump which is why i thought it might have been that instead? See what I'm saying?
-
Your p/s? But thats right up top well out the way of the floor, you sure its not just the idler/tensioner?
-
Yeah i know! it had only covered something like 30 miles and that happened to it! The new ones covered about 150 now and is still good. so hopefully it lasts to the 300 mile round trip to japfest 2 and back! Also had a little shake down on the car this evening, car feels very different with the new setup. But grips very well once the tyres warm up, just want to get it back on track now

Massive power on the rolling road.......

Was that wheel or fly power? -
Cheers dude yeah im well happy with them too! Haha i wish it had new bolsters and a good clean tbh Right after fitting my cusco LSD box a few weeks ago i had it booked on track for an evening seasion, had the monday of from work to get the tracking/alignment done. About 3 hours before i was set to sign on a thought id go get it done. Started my car up to find it sounding like a tractor!! Im like noooo!! Quick look underneath and my downpipe gaskets blowing, great so off comes the manifold an downpipe to find this... That nice gasket i had made couldnt handle the heat and had broken into loads of bits and pieces, luckily my dad had some different stuff laying about which is rated to a higher temp. So off i go to make a new one up at work on my day off Quick faf at work come home stick this together and stick it back on and its 3pm 30mins before sign on! No chance to get tracking done.... Fail! Never mind still chucked it around snetty for a few laps not knowing what its like haha Few pics I've borrowed from the MSV website. (Not like you couldnt tell) Soo after that shake down the car behaved very well minus a sticking rear brake in the first 15mins it was fine afterwards the LSD was very impressive but i couldnt push the car as much as i'd have liked due to the alignment as the car felt a little unsettled. So as i didnt get a chance to get it setup i booked it in at a place in attleborough called the little car clinic, full live alignment with a ex lotus technician with 25 years experience. I left him to dial in what he thought would be a good fast road setup but the old figures are shocking haha Oh and the rear camber an toe was out more here slightly as one of the mounts hadnt seated correctly at first but the rear right is slightly bent it seems During setup I havent taken a picture of the printout as i forgot but its not running much camber and slightly negative toe. 0.04 a side toe and 0.54 camber but he's also set my tyre pressures to 27psi front and 23psi rear. Dampers set 4-6 from soft on front and 4-2 on the rears for road and 22 and 18 on track. I know that seems quite tame and it does to me as well, but im going to see how it drives. Get it on track maybe later this month and test it. Its deffinately a big improvement over what it was before so only time will tell As always comments welcome

morgey replied to smb2011's topic in Alignment & Alloys
I've had my ad08's for a fair while now and both wet and dry grip far outseeds my t1r's they do need a little bit of heat but once there they are fantastic. Just done a few hours on track with them and they still have plenty loads left and have done a good few 1000 miles now. Plus pod launches and your general hacking about like a twat. Theyve been given an A rating in the wet as well which is better than the rainsports. I got mine on a set of wheels and the cost of the tyres alone would have cost more than i paid for them though lol so there is a downside to them haha -
I know my 4age they have incorporated a vac mani into the throttle design, each one has a single feed on the under side which all join into one another and in turn feeds into it. This supplies the map sensor (still has a pulse reducer inline) and brake servo, then the two outer have another feed each. One for for and another for an idle valve or something on the underside of the throttles that i cant see. Im pretty sure theres also a feed to the throttle stop dampener on mine.
-
Not sure on the pcv setup but with the vacuum mani id imagine you would still get quite bad pulses running it like that. I know its hassle but if it was me id run all four to one manifold to give you the most even signal (thats how a stock plenum works) and take fpr, brake servo and map from that possibly with pulse reducers on all bar the brake servo. Just my 2p but im sure you've looked into it already lol
