  2. nah bud I did think that at first tbh but I noticed it yesterday out on a drive :-( I've been speaking to Mike at td and when he moves to his new unit I'm going to take it to him as he will have the room to store it, I'm thinking it's the valve seals but until it's stripped down I won't know for certain I'm going to get it sorted either way, I've got a month to save the money and I'll get it sorted worst case scenario is the pistons and a rebuild we shall see what happens fingers crossed it's just a rebuilt head. I've got a spare engine and ct9 and td04 turbo to sell to boost the funds!
  3. Forgot to mention it's got the unsprung 6puk clutch and 3.8kg lightened flywheel!

  5. After giving it serious thought I'm considering breaking my car as it's still smoking at high rpm and it's burning a little oil! The compression is 160 across all four cylinders but I can't afford to throw anymore money at it! The spec is Ross racing pistons 74.5mm crower rods, sard k24 turbo just been rebuilt by Liam D Midland turbo with 12 months warranty, sard stainless manifold and de-cat, trial 38mm external wastegate with 0.8 spring with screamer pipe, race spec rocker cover, full adjustable bc coilovers in very good condition, blitz nur spec r exhaust system, jperformance fmic with pip

  10. I sent my turbo to Liam on Tuesday for new seals and a vacuum nipple to be tapped into my turbo I received it today and I really couldn't be happier with Liams service and workmanship he text me over the period of him having my turbo to keep me up to date with the progress, it's hard to find such good customer service to the level Liam gave me he really is a top lad I wouldn't recommend anyone else! Here's some pictures of the finished product witch speaks for itself.
  11. I see it now John very stealth :-) I think your V is mint I've seen a few YouTube videos of your motor and it looks very tidy. Mike

  14. Jamie how come you haven't got a breather filter on your catch can or am i missing something?
  15. It's called compression surge and in the long run can cause problems for some, the excess air in the system travels back out the turbo causing the (chatter) turbo to stall witch is bad! What bov are you running?
  16. I'm running a sard k24 the boost comes in around 3k depending on the gear I.e up a hill in 4th at say 30-40 it will start spooling up at 2.5k full boost at 4k I can't tell you but figures as I need to rolling Road mine but at 0.8bar it pulls very well and keeps on pulling!
  17. I've had mine meshed and with all the bad weather I had dirty water getting in the turbo witch has blown the seals! Trust me use a filter until at least summer else you'll be rebuilding your turbo every two months
  18. I've done a compression test it's 160 a cross all four cylinders! I've found out that it's my turbo seals as I had a little bit of oil from the inlet side.
  19. I've phoned Alan Jeffrey in Plymouth to find out what he would charge to change my hg he said £600 witch I thought was expensive I would do it myself but I'm working a lot at the minute and just don't have time! I'm doing a sniff test tomorrow to make sure it's the hg can anyone recommend any other local mechanics who are Trust worthy? I'd rather do it myself than pay £600!
  20. I'll hold on to it for you Pm me your address I'll find out postage costs and pm you a price bud
