Whitestar's budget EP70 project, Rusty is her name

That is a lovely motor my friend! -
This really ought to be in the NSFW section!

Fantastic stuff! Car looks great.

Nah, looks like they've forgotten to renew their domain name. The lads on there are too committed for it to disappear, they just don't appear to be that technically minded when it comes to this sort of thing, or rather have the time. I'm confident it will be back up once they renew their domain name.

I think I have a spare one buddy. PM me if you're interested and I'll grab some photos.

Such a beautiful country! Nice skyline as well!

Yeah I was just saying, does that not seem wrong to you? If it's failed the MOT then surely that should invalidate a 11 month old MOT. The car has failed, it's been deemed no longer roadworthy and therefore could cause an accident. As others had said, that isn't the case. But I found that really odd. I would have thought it would...
-
Shyam, you're allowed to drive a car without an MOT to an authorised MOT garage providing you can prove it's booked in for an MOT. @dollwithabuyn If that was aimed at me, then sorry, I just was interested for my own sakes what people thought the rules are. I'm just trying to help you get the full picture. All I'm saying is, I know from experience I have had trouble with Halfords MOT with emissions. They tend not to know what they're doing. However, I can't make that assumption here without evidence. They should have provided you with a readout of those emission
-
My issue is, if it was road worthy, it would have passed its MOT. it didn't, therefore, someone (whether they are right or wrong) have decided that the car is not road worthy. Emissions shouldn't be an exception to the rule. Carbon monoxide poisoning is incredibly dangerous and I know people who have fallen unconscious at the wheel due to it. So yes, it's not to be sniffed at! I reckon Halfrauds haven't got a clue what they are on about, but until I physically see that sheet that I spoke to you about, or the car, I can't comment further.
-
But, lets say the car is that bad it needs a rebuild, that should be blindingly obvious right? Smoking its tits off and what not. Surely that would be justifiable to pull over.
-
Well this is it isn't it. Is the car road legal or not? What makes a car road legal, MOT, Tax and insurance?
-
Lol. I wasn't sure, but that's pretty shady if you ask me. It could have failed because it's really bad, but so long as it was alright 12 months ago then you're legit. Pretty funny but if that's what they say thanks for clearing it up.
-
Yep, first thing I would do would be to go back and ask for that print out. They should have given that to you as proof that the engine has failed the emissions. If they don't give it you then I'd demand a retest or a refund. Personally would not use halfords, wouldn't trust the monkeys to sell me a bike, let alone fix my car...
-
Brilliant, so you have no way to actually verify what they said is actually true. I refer you to my first statement where I said halfords are useless!!! Don't go to halfords, they're shit and probably, probably, told you a load of rubbish.
-
You would have been given the piece of paper from the MOT station describing the results Something similar to one of those. Proving to you, and us, that the car failed on emissions.
-
It should be accompanied with a reading of the gases as well. A percentage indicating how high it was.
-
Well that's Halfords for you, I've had nothing but false information from them, especially when it comes to my GT and emissions. What exactly did they say?
-
No excuse really for not answering the phone. If you're that busy then employ a secretary.
