  1. yes you can just buy a kit off ebay or i think gary at gbr was selling a full kit out of his starlet
  2. Well were to start....... after replacing my engine and going out of my way to find a super low milage MK1 GT engine (thicker rods) I decide I wated to go down the TD04 route. Well all going well I'm collecting parts........ Mani, decat, turbo, oil and water lines gaskest, I've even bought some Stainless mig wire and argon gas so I can brace everything to the max. So I'm now at the point where I can start bolting it on. Well my engine started to have a slight misfire on idle so I thought plugs...... changed still there..... leads arent that old so I left them ad compression tested all the cylinders Pot 1. 10bar Pot 2. 6bar Pot 3. 10bar Pot 4. 10bar Can anyone spot where the fail is?!?!? well my first tought was gummed/carboned rings so I poored some WD down the pot and left for 1hour sucked it all out put it together ran it till the the exhaust gasses went clear and it had warmed back up and compession tested it again. Pot 1. 10bar Pot 2. 8bar Pot 3. 10bar Pot 4. 10bar I though yeh sorted well kind of its anyway and tht slight missfire had gone woop! anyway 3days later Its taking 20-30seconds of cranking for it to start when cold my exhaust note changed and I lost power on low revs and its not boosting till 3.5k oooopppppps! so pulled the dipstick while it was running and backpressure and smoke. so tomorrow I'm going to comp test again to see what I've got and if its rings I'm going to drop some forged pistons in it and port/polish my head. I dont need to do the rods because there the thicker ones and I'm not going to be putting silly boost through it and I just want some peice of mind by elliminating the weak point which seems to be ring lands. anyway now I've told you all that I'm going getting some prices. EDIT: oh yeh I broke my 6speed box again so I binned it and put 5speed in it
  3. There are two wire to connect, the wires are located behind the plastic on the drivers side foot well not sure what colour they are but if you have a power prob (recommended) each wire will go to earth, one wire on lock and one on unlock.
  4. Welcome along mate, I'm quite local to you (Middleton)
  5. Right it now works with the switch on the inside when the ignition is on and on my button while the ignition if off To do this I've added another DPDT relay and 4 more wires (9 in total). I'm now integrating a timing device of around 5 seconds so when the doors are locked/unlocked it latches the relay for a set time so the mirrors have enough time to fold in/out before the device swithes off. Also means it will work on a glanza without an alarm by just locking/unlocking the door with the key (as mine and many other alarms have a setting so it's sends a feed to the door actuators for 1sec or 6sec, which is why mine works without a timing device).
  6. Ryan this is some crazy stuff to get my head around again Bloody SINE, COSINE and TANGENTS. I remember doing this and still have the assignments on a dongle somewhere I'll try dig them out.
  7. PCV valve. That lad at mm rr meet was smoking till I told him to change that and it stopped. It was White to

  10. He's very highly rated and his work looks awesome, if you are told a few have failed recently try asking Ricky how many he has made and how long he's been making them and then how many have failed out of that time I think you'll find everyone has a fail rate and his will be low.
  11. Isn't The diesel a N engine or something surely the manifold fitting would be different.
  12. Didn't know there was so many .... Good write up Ste kudos Now do Glanza one please
  13. The TRD box is the adjuster for TRD EL glow dials...... No good without the rest of the gubbins.
  14. You'll need to remove the air con and the space that is made by this enables you to access the to relocate to the front bumper, you will need to buy silicon elbows or buy a kit off dean (rw developments)
  15. The badger wagon only getting a rest then Phil? glad its not being retired, as that would be truely unforgivable. Can't wait to see the new daily. That's a point winters starting to set in I needs to go dig out the standard wheels.
  16. The original are not normal bolts they help locate it in the correct position. Toyota won't charge that much for them... Or go scrapped and get some from an uk spec ep91 there the same bolts
  17. In theory it should run as the dizzy sorts timing the ecu just advances it plus the ecu will fuel it fine to. I used to run an astra back in the day with a 1.6 engine in it with a 1.4 ecu and it ran like a 1.6 I'd do it just for shits and giggles and id expect it to run
  18. Won't thinners/White spirit put a White haze on the plastic?
