Id do it slightly differently to the two of yous but yeah you can change the driveshaft oil seals with the box still in the car. Theres a special tool which makes popping out the seals easier but a good flathead screwdriver will do the trick Make sure the surfaces are clean and lubricated with some oil/grease before attemping to fit the new seals. I just use a 3/8 bar with a hammer to fit them.

Ive got a proper FTE one if you need it buddy.

It could be the actual alternator itself thats making the noise. Could just be the belts though, hold a block of wax against the contact surface of the belts whilst the engine is running, that should take away any squeel (assuming the belts are correctly tensioned)

And then wonder why the oil is 50% powder coatings

Will just be a case of lowering it to suit your needs then buddy
