Help! Drivers door has dropped and catching skirt
JDMfreak replied to Flynn's topic in Exterior Design
I actually fixed one of these the other day pull the wing off much handier to work at I took the hinge off that was causing the agro and filled it a bit making it adjust ie move hinge back door drops move it forward door lifts so I could make it lift more even though it could lift a bit more with the hinge been worn as I didn't have any other option didn't have a hinge to replace it with ive seen a few people take the hinge off cut the door pin take it out weld a washer over the original pin hole and replace the pin no more worn door hinge for a good while -
that colour is awesome them wings though what's the plan for this more power or just keep it as is
-
also while I was at it fitted my blitz 42mm boost gauge all I can say is wow its tiny haha but does the job and looks the part will be getting a proper pod or holder for it more than likely will fit it into a modified dash vent to hold the gauge excuse the crap on dash need to find something to dissolve superglue and the double sided tape mess and the tidy way to run wires and pipes haha
-
right time for an update received my jd tuning mounts today and set about fitting them also got my boost gauge fitted aswell as that turned up right I had a suspicion my engine mounts were wanked as I could keep hearing a slap from my gearbox mount when taking of and stopping little did I know how bad it was and my rear engine mount that was just as bad here's a few pics of the old mounts just goes to show they don't last forever front gearbox mount and out and new one fitted rear mount :/ all sealant removed bush don't look bad but spot the welds around the metal

Help please! Mechanics can't solve suspension problem...
JDMfreak replied to dazstarlet's topic in Chassis & Suspension
as morgey said pan hard rod is on other side of axle have a look at the video I uploaded see if the car has any movement from side it should be fairly solid and should only have body sway another test jack car up at rear preferably place jacks on sills there two places you can put them two little notches missing so axle is free to move up and down side to side and grab the wheel doesn't matter what side do both and pull and push wheel see if it has any sideways movement -
few I have of mine before and after before and after
-
one he has is just a normal wire sensor goes from sensor to clock you need the black box the sensor goes to the sensor and to the gauge something like them electric boost gauges

that's why im wanting to for gas shocks instead these bilstein ones are fairly stiff even on the smallest of bumps and going over speedramps they are solid im going to shop around see whats the best
-
Right sounds a bit odd ive bilstein front shocks in my car at the minute and they are fairly stiff and bumpy and I don't actually like driving it at the minute. It actually feels like ive two solid bars connecting the shock to the car my mate called up today in his glanza v he has standard shocks and the same springs and his car feels so much better has a decent about of movement and is comfy on the road not bouncy all over the place. now im half debating taking these front shocks out and fitting my springs into a standard set of shocks will be new front shocks and new rear shocks as w

you will need to bring taxbook that's what we call logbook to dvla and ask them that you have purchased the car and what to register in in the uk as calum said as far as im aware they will accept a car with an ni reg as its pretty much same as the uk and same with mot you will need to notify your insurance and explain the vehicle has an Irish reg and you need to collect the car as far as im aware they give you 30 days once the car is brought into the country to change the relevant details and issue a new logbook if you wanted to cheat a bit you purchase a set of plates ie.. a perso

I actually had to do a abs test on a mates glanza v the other day followed this guide but the abs light didn't flash like the eml light does stayed on constant and got brighter and dimmer. managed to read the code by looking at it with great patience I read you have to put it into diagnostic mode or something
