Cheers guys saturday really gave me a kick up the arse to get cracking again with this after 2 solid days at it ive made alot of progress!

Looking quality Rob matey!

Looking forward to seeing it in the flesh, looks minty fresh!

Whats left to purchase, parts wise to get her running?

to get it in and running i only need to order the roose hose kit and the cambelt kit and alt and pwr steering belts and i need to source one intercooler pipe for the cold side. once ive got those the engine is ready to go in pretty much. then just a few little bits and to decide what to do turbo wise. :)

  • 4 weeks later...

Right then bee bored at home all day writing lists of things i need to buy and need/want to do and after an insiring chat with adam i thought id best bring you guys right up to date.

The next thing to arrive was my hdi hot pipe for the fmic as the kit I bought was missing it. I was surprised how bad the welds were on this so after a little clean up and a quick port! it was better than ever and after a quick lick of VHT paint its looking stealthy.

While I was waiting for payday I though id crack on with the car and started by finishing stripping out the engine wiring loom ready for the news one and while I was at it I stripped some of the fixings and support bars off the front end ready for a bit of paint. I also got round to refurbishing some wipers that I got off socks when I visited him. Was in dire need of some new ones after one of my other was bent by some fucktard. While I was at it I refurbished the lower arm braces as they were looking a bit tired.

As the water pump form the cj performance kit is designed for an after market pump I decided to see if I could make it wit using a spare water pump I had lying around so I removed the standard pulley off the pump and i just need to get a cheap after market pump off ebay to chop up.

The next thing to arrive was my exhaust it looks like a custom made one but it looks pretty well made and it still solid so after a little clean up its ready for some heat wrap.

After stripping the front end I decided to strip the crash bar back and give it a lick of paint along with the bumper supports and the bonnet latch.

While I was killing time I cracked on with stripping some old lower arm down ready for poly bushing.

and painted them up ready for bushes

I decieded to go for a glanza loom as the spliced loom i had doesnt appear to have provisions for electric windows and the like. :(

While I was at it I swapped the hyper revs clock surround on to the glanza clocks, SEXY!

At this point I may have accidently bought a few new items that I didnt really need but my god they were worth it. :D

Firstly was an ebay bargain of a Japspeed exhuast, a quality piece of kit for the money and looks awesome off the car. I cant decide whether to wrap it or not yet.

0f8e2b95.jpg

64bcc854.jpg

The 2nd purchase im keeping under wraps till they arrive as they are currently lost in the TNT network somewehre around rotherham which is a little bit worrying but il assured it will be here tomorrow.

Right so things left to buy/pay for:

Looms (collecting at JF)

CJ Performance Hose Kit

Cambelt Kit

Aux Belts

Polybushes

Droplinks

4x CV boots

Exhaust rubbers

Hoping to have all this here and be getting the engine in by the end of may. then i just need to sort a few bodyowrk issues and source a turbo kit and it should be good to go. as always though its down to pennies and time, 2 things i dont have alot of atm.

You dirty whore! Thats a big update :p... Can't believe you bought another exhaust when you had a good one already lol! Japspeeds for the win though. Sound awesome and they always go for really good prices.... I quite like the interior without a dash too :p... Maybe you should leave it out lol! Arms look brand new too. Great work!

Nice one Rob :)!
