Chris Green
sorry to hear this bud! not good! Phil. Me too mate, getting pretty sick of it now. I'm picking up distributor tomorrow to see if it resolves the lack of running cylinders. Hopefully it's just a bad spell and nothing too serious lurking.

Chris Green
Not good news, really good strong sparks once the new distributor was put on. Wont start at all now, fuel going in, good spark. No go. Any ideas?

But might explain it if something has slipped. That 5e is a living nightmare
Chris Green
Tell me about it mate. In the event that it needs pulled out again and rings or valve stem oil seals done. Would anyone be interested in buying the car or be interested in the parts? I need to weigh up my options here as I need something reliable for work and it just isn't suitable to be using it ever day.
Jamie93DLZ
Chris dont give up, seems that engine is a doose, threw it in the corner and fire a 1.3 in again, its rough to say this but look at the price off N/a starlets, there not making much. Fix it as you will only regret it. Wish id never sold my sr but will be in one again soon so i need a starlet buddy lol

I need to weigh up my options here as I need something reliable for work and it just isn't suitable to be using it ever day. I'd be interested in the Remix front bumper mate. I'm sure it won't come to breaking it up though? as said even if it comes to throwing a n/a engine back in, you can get them for cheap now!
vizzioarts
Yep, throw back in a 4efe. Or if you can afford it, garage it and run a cheap as chips reliable daily until you gain interest again. Would be a real shame to see this sold on or even worse broke to bits.
Chris Green
At the moment, I'm working in an area that's not easy to get to. I will have to get 3 buses at a cost of £11 a day for a journey that takes 20 minutes in the car. I really am losing interest at the moment. I cant keep chucking money at it just to make it run. It owes me a fortune now and it's still not working. Money isn't really the issue, I have a bit put away for things like this, but it is a huge inconvenience. I may look into buying a cheap daily, but I know that interest will be lost and I won't be bothered with it.
dan106
Feel for ya bro Youve put way too much work into this car to give up now!
motion
Feel for ya bro Youve put way too much work into this car to give up now!Yes! I wanted to say the same
Jamie93DLZ
You might laugh here but if you want a cheap daily get a 106 diesel, have one myself and they run on fumes.. You most likely would lose interest in it chris, just stick a 1.3 in it again so you wont.
Jamie5414
Best daily is a clio dci if you ask me, 80mpg on runs and not much below that around the city. If you get the dci80 that's got a inter cooler too, the dci65 doesn't Edited January 1, 2014 by Jamie5414
Phil
4efe thee wee brute as a daily (see jay for the necessary bits) then take your time building your 5e ~na weapon or a forged 4efte for the future. Phil
Chris Green
Really not sure what to be doing at the moment. Haven't done a compression test yet, as I haven't got a hold of the tester yet. Garage cleared, car parked up. All being well, I'll have some news tonight.
