Dansstarlet1996 Posted July 12, 2016 Posted July 12, 2016 Sounds awesome mate, what sort of power you hoping to run with it NA? Quote
Pikey009 Posted July 12, 2016 Author Posted July 12, 2016 Near the 100bhp mark hopfully. But I might not be quite as close with the stock exhaust manifold. Saves money in the long run though Quote
Pikey009 Posted July 14, 2016 Author Posted July 14, 2016 Well we had our second baby yesterday morning at 230 so progress will now be slow for a while. I did manage to nip out for some supplies earlier in the SR Quote
Dale SR Posted July 14, 2016 Posted July 14, 2016 I love that picture of your SR it looks so good Congratulations on your new little one Quote
Pikey009 Posted July 18, 2016 Author Posted July 18, 2016 Thanks v much forgot how little sleep you get when they're this age Quote
jimmymac101 Posted July 18, 2016 Posted July 18, 2016 Congratulation buddy! How long before the wife says the SR is to small and you need a family car haha James Quote
Pikey009 Posted July 18, 2016 Author Posted July 18, 2016 Ha we've got a mk5 golf gt tdi as the family car. She actually wants the SR to stay as its so cheap to run compared to everything else I've owned. It is a little worrying as a second car though because there's no way I'd put my kids in the back of it. So if we ever needed to for some reason then we'd be screwed. Ideally I would garage it and then get a fabia vrs to bomb around in but I'm not having three cars Quote
Pikey009 Posted July 20, 2016 Author Posted July 20, 2016 I can't help but take photos of it at the min. Love how the gold flec comes through in the sunlight, it's a really unusual black. Quote
Pikey009 Posted July 25, 2016 Author Posted July 25, 2016 Thanks v much lads bit hard to find time to even clean the car at the min let alone do anything else :/ Quote
Pikey009 Posted August 22, 2016 Author Posted August 22, 2016 So I've been saving up for a half rad kit for a couple of months and at the same time been waiting to hear from my wife's work to see if she can work at the reading branch after her maternity leave. Just as I've got the most ey for the rad kit it we hear from her work and turns out they're a bunch of complete xxxxxxs and she has to go back up to Nottingham to work. If she doesn't then we lose about 8k in maternity pay that we've already had.So basically it would mean she has to move back up to her Mums with our boys and I'll have to travel up every weekend (around 400 miles a weekend). I think I'm going to have to sell the Starlet absolutely gutted but there's no way I can put that sort of mileage on it. I've got nowhere to store it and even if I did then it'd either just sit there or we have to tax and inside three cars. Quote
Starlet__SR Posted August 22, 2016 Posted August 22, 2016 Cant you find yourself a little garage near the mother in laws? Think carefully before you sell it though. Quote
Pikey009 Posted August 22, 2016 Author Posted August 22, 2016 She lives in the middle of nowhere mate and even if I could that'd also mean it's sat up there and I'm 200miles south. Trust me mate I've been thinking of nothing else since we found out Quote
Starlet__SR Posted August 22, 2016 Posted August 22, 2016 She lives in the middle of nowhere mate and even if I could that'd also mean it's sat up there and I'm 200miles south. Trust me mate I've been thinking of nothing else since we found out Not gonna hurt nothing sat up there, store it and save it for when things return to normal. Quote
Pikey009 Posted August 22, 2016 Author Posted August 22, 2016 They might not as by the time she's done I'll be due a posting to a different unit in the army so would be moving. We can't afford to have three cars even if the starlet is off-the-peg road. We'd need to buy a second diesel for me :/ Don't get me wrong is be in no rush to sell it and wouldn't let it go for less than I'd want as it isn't happening just yet Quote
Dale SR Posted August 23, 2016 Posted August 23, 2016 just put the miles on it better that than you looseing her Quote
Pikey009 Posted August 23, 2016 Author Posted August 23, 2016 I can't mate it needs to be kept nice I'd hate doing all those miles in it. I like just using it when I want to at the min. Quote
Dale SR Posted August 24, 2016 Posted August 24, 2016 Ye it's no fun putting lots of miles on them. Hopefully you find her a good home Quote
Pikey009 Posted August 25, 2016 Author Posted August 25, 2016 Yeh it won't just go to anyone, I want to make sure it'll stay as an SR. I'll be getting it MOT'd soon and then I'll have to put it up for sale I'm in no rush to sell as my lass isn't going just yet but just thought I may aswell put it up sooner rather than later as I'll have to find a decent replacement Quote
