Anything that can seal a vw must be good stuff 😂

Its just a case of loosening them and spinning it a little bit one way. Cant remember which ways advance and which is retard though. Also mark it in its original place so you can put it back to where it was if all else fails! 1st You need to know what to listen for. If you do it too much you can cause detonation/pinking, thats a quick way to blown your engine up. But if you know what you're listening for you can do it fairly safely. If you really want to get the most out of it consider running higher octane fuel as they have high resistance to det, meaning more advancement and more power...

Quoting the description in the link "An extra high performance motor oil for all types of modern vehicles including high performance and turbo charged engines. Delivers outstanding engine cleanliness and protection against wear at high temperatures and under severe operating conditions. Mobil Super S 10W/40 5L Car Engine Oil is specifically recommended for use in all high performance, turbo-charged petrol and diesel engines, as well as older normally aspirated models. Mobil Super S 10W-40 is an excellent choice for passenger cars, light trucks and vans"

Agree with fluid change first, its usually overlooked. Saying that ebc's arent that great imo, I've got yellows and theyre very inconsistent. When they work theyre great but every so often they dont seem to bite properly. Id opt for some mintex or ferrodo ds2500's personally, had much better experience with them.

Bumper will finish the rear end off nicely 👌
-
Grade wise its fine. 10w40 semi is what toyota recommend. But if you rag your car about get a half decent brand. Castrol mobil fuch Etc etc I run millers fully synth but thats in an engine revving to 8400.

Help please! Mechanics can't solve suspension problem...
morgey replied to dazstarlet's topic in Chassis & Suspension
Its fixed as standard on all models but most people fit adjustable ones when lowering their car. It sits on the front side of the rear beam. Bolts to the chassis on the drivers side and beam on the passengers. if you dont have one then thats 100% your problem lol -
They are about but not very common thats all.

If you want dark grey glanza stuff you'll be doing well, 99% of glanzas were electric. Connor @ep performance had some manual ones but not sure if they sold. I do have all the stuff here for an ellecy conversion but was going to use the motors in these doors as my current ones are a bit sluggish.

Is the panard rod in good nick, is it an adjustable one and is it all tight? Thats what controls lateral movement. Also theres a bar that runs inside the rear beam that can snap and can clang around worth having a look at that. -
Have you got manual or ellecy windows though? The armrest is specific to either version.
-
You mean the arm rest and pocket? I've a spare set i could remove over the weekend. I was going to swap mine around so id have some plane ones left. And before anyone asks its a mini lavalamp ????

I still say its bad tracking. They just didnt straighten the wheel properly when they aligned it so its left off center
-
Not really as theres nothing adjustable on the rear of a starlet. All i can think of is somewhere that does proper 4 wheel alignment might actually be able to point to what might be the issue. Is it just sitting off center or is it actually pulling one way? Have you checked your tyre pressures or brakes to see if ones sticking?
-
C151 i think, although some chassis plates state c141 but that would be a 4 speed lol Any 3 digit box has thinner gears. Not sure if theyre interchangable im afraid
-
But they didnt say what the issue was?
-
Its just badly done tracking. Some places only align 1 wheel, so basically drive it on pull one straight (turning the steering wheel) then just align the otherside. The amount of times I've watched places do it is stupid, I've driven out, turned around and told them to do it properly. Thing is some places try and charge you for 2 adjustments even though to do tracking correctly you set the steering wheel straight then adjust both wheels separately.
