Yea this is true, i just dont like how everything is extra on them, but yes, they are a very very good ecu in the sense of just the map..and its awesome your putting one in your ep as this thread has proved far too little people do use something decent. Anything over 300bhp is a pretty big spec on a starlet, you dont see people with 800bhp supra's running piggybacks lol. Think everyone has cleared that up so i wont add anything else.. Standalone is the way to go...

JAM map sensor?....interesting. But yea itll be due to the relocated filter. Turbo cant flow the air out the backend thats coming in. Think of it like pouring loads of water in a cup with a tiny hole out that bottom - it over follows. Thats whats happening. Either restrict the intake, exhaust, then raise the boost back up with an EBC to get it stable, or port the wastegate. Even if you were to fit an FCD and start running more boost, you need to do this properly and not run more boost with creep. JAM FCD's / Greddy FCD's dont start leaning it out all across the rev range like the HKS

Personally think WEPR is the best out of the mentioned, welding is far neater/better.

I dont understand peoples obsession with motec, yea they are good, but there is better things out there now. Dont get a PFC imo, totally not worth the money, and if your not going for a massive spec, yes and EMU would suffice, but again a standalone like a link etc will be better.

Cant remember what its called off the top of my head! ill have to try and find out. Ive currently left the stuff in for the immobiliser otherwise it wouldn't run, when an fte goes in with an ecu that can all come out also Be interesting to see how much it weighs when its done...

You can get special sprays for windows that stop them steaming up, alot of racecars use it. Yea i just saw you commented in that thread a while ago adam.. still abit more to come out aswell

Still happening matey, just still trynna get hold of parts to make some custom suspension parts, turning out to be abit tricky..more progress as and when they are found, as the cage cant be done until so as it all ties in. -

Cracked head and manifold bolt question

...and dont overtighten the manifold nuts, which is what alot of people do, which is why they then snap or crack the head. torque them properly to spec. -

Noooo side port on the wastegate to the compressor housing, top one goes to you BC solenoid if you run one, if not leave it open. The other port on the BC solenoid then is T-pieced into the vac between the compressor housing and side port on the wastegate.

Why would you want to put windows on a mac!!!!!!!!!! Another apple vote, ive got an MBP and iMac..hammer the mbp everyday, never gets turned off, been rained on, dropped, battered into a wall..still works great. Get a 2010 jobby cheap, drop 8gb of ram and an SSD in it and off you go! -

What is left to do I'm guessing I will need different injectors? Standard injectors are fine for 200bhp I know I will need a new fuel pump and a new fuel pressure reg (can someone tell me if you can get that fitted and set up when you get it mapped? I have no idea how to set and what is the right fuel pressure.) A new pump is a good idea, you wont necessarily need an adjustable FPR if you have an aftermarket ecu put in the car. Standard fuel pressure if you do decide to get an adjustable on is 2.4bar. You can fit these before having it mapped. Obviously a standalone ECU what would people -
Remove the EFI fuse, just removing the king lead still dumps in fuel. Regarding finding .5 bar. its trial and error. set it long, test it and slowly start to wind it back in abit at a time and keep testing.

Itll be the DV leaking. If you want chatter remove the valve completely instead of just blocking the vacuum up.

How far away is your wideband from the back of the exhaust housing? i.e where abouts in the exhaust is it, or is it in the downpipe?
