  1. KuRust? I've used it a fair bit. The idea is that it uses a chemical reaction to turn the rust back to metal, presumably turning Iron - Oxide, stripping the Oxide, to leave Iron. I've pretty sure it dissolves paint as well. So the idea is to stop rust on stuff you apply it, then when it turns black, paint over it. The proper way to solve this is to get the car to a body shop and replace the metal.
  2. Ohh can I ask, The powersteering has been deleted. Firstly what it is it like to drive? And how has it been deleted? I do want to do this to mine, that looks like a sizeable difference to the bay if you asked me. But I want to do this without looping the P/S rack. But from my research this wants a non P/S steering column. I don't mind, I just would rather have all the bits I need before I start. Cheers.
  3. Yeah bud we still got it. It's in storage lol There it is along side mine. The night after we left yours: Jap Fest 1 2015 I think Anyway it's safe and sound, not been driven for a long time, and I doubt it's going to get driven any time soon either. But it served my brother well he did serious miles in it up and down the country never missed a beat. Just needed the odd thing or two sorting out.
  4. Oh it's concaved and split. I.e. There id a hole that goes through the car now. Other than the drainage hole. Looks like something I should get onto next month! Cheers Colin
  5. As said, it's been like that for years. I don't drive the car so it shouldn't get much worse. It's not something I can do myself, but my dad doesn't think it'll be a problem. Just out of interest Colin what do you think the best approach to fix it is? It's all concaved in where the Jack has pushed up onto it. Would it be best to cut out the rot and the damage and weld a new piece in?
  6. This car is absolutely riddled with problems FFS! According to the MOT History, it's been this way since at least January 2013.
  7. Evo four lol. I don't even have auto correction on my phone, how did I mange that. Yeah Evo I've evo I've.
  8. I've never owned one but I got a mate who has an Evo I've and an Evo V and he often borrows his Boss's Evo I've RS. His Evo V is bog standard, but it's a Jap import and he reckons the box has been fettled with as it has shorter ratios than the RS. My Brother has a TD04 Starlet, and they have gone neck and neck and the Starlet has edged away. Two things, the Starlet has to be driven ON POINT. And the Evo was not expecting to be raced so he had to drop it down a few pegs. So it's not what you would call a fair race. If it were a drag race I've no doubt the Evo would h
  9. It's worth mentioning that the chassis on the RS models are stronger/lighter than the GSR models. I believe they are seam welded and were designed to be rallied. I have been in an Evo I've RS, that doesn't come with recaro's or even a speedo. It came with dual oil coolers from the factory. I was underwhelmed with its performance to be quite honest with you. In stock trim the evo I've isn't the best when you compare it to a slightly modified GT.
  10. My mate's got an Evo 5 and it's an incredible car. Heavy? Not really, you can buy a VW Golf that weighs about the same and this is a 4wd saloon. My experience of the Evo V Starlet is that the Starlet is limited in it's ability. Cracking car for the money, but you got push the Evo that little bit further, especially when both in Stock form. Mildly tuned Evo's for the money can have fairly tuned Starlets. Difference being the Evo is easier to drive and probably faster and more reliable. My friend absolutely well and truly batters his evo. He keeps up with fluids and cam belts, bu
  11. Pretty sure I mention this initially??

    Short shifter

Have you looked at the Hypersport short shifter kit. Not a short shifter, but does reduce throw massively!
  15. TGTT, looking at this recently, reckons Mk2 Fiesta. http://www.toyotagtturbo.com/forums/showthread.php?109339-Rustproofing-an-EP/page2 http://magnumclassicfordpanels.co.uk/fiesta-mk2-1983-89.html
  16. Is this the OEM one? Yeah unfortunately you either have the necessary wiring loom, or you don't. So they aren't much use to those without the loom.
  17. I haven't any experience with this myself. After three years of ownership, and only 500 miles driving it, I can't exactly say I'd ever consider selling up. Not at this point. But if the day comes that I do decide to sell, you gotta move forwards in life. Variety is the spice of life, you've had a Starlet, been there done that. I think you should move on. Plenty of good motors out there. If you're in the position to have a Starlet and another Toy, then do it. But if you can only have one car, I'd say have something that interests you.
  18. Nice on bud ;) Glad I could help out.
  19. I've been working on this this weekend. I don't have rear interior, but I bought an aluminium battery relocation box. I also created a false floor to mount it to. I bought a Buddy Club's Racing Spec Condenser to act as an earthing kit. I'm using a normal battery but I will feed the fumes outside Hopefully this will tidy up the engine bay.
