I know mate. Finally. As said, still 100 and 1 things to do. But at least the it's running. For reasons I'd rather not discussed, no idea how long it will last. My mate thinks 300 miles before it goes pop, some on the web say 'be alright'. I know the answer, but I'm burying my head in the sand for now and just saying sod it.

Wow, that's quite some time... How has it been going?
-
Yeah I've seen a few people do that. I'm used to that anyway. I ride a two stroke as a daily and getting them idling from cold is always a mare lol. So tend to be dabbing the throttle or whatever.

Hello Well the engine is all running. I'm just letting it tick over on the drive so I got drop the oil and filter and coolant. But I'm noticing a fair amount of water seaping from the ICV. Now I've had this apart and cleaned using some carb cleaner. And the engine has been stood for months. It seems to be leaking from where the two faces meet. Has anyone experienced this before? I'm hoping it's condensation, or something during the build and once it has all been ran back in then it will go away. So unless someone says anything otherwise....

She's looking good. Will this be making its way to any shows this year?

Hi, I'm getting ever closer to starting this thing now. Engine is all back together, and with a bit of luck it's all been done correctly. I've turned the over by hand and it seems to be fine. A little stiff where the valves are reaching their peak, is that normal? but fairly free everywhere else. I'm scratching my head at this one why the car won't start though. It turns over, but at maybe 75% or 50% of what my brothers mk3 does. I've removed all plugs and they are all sparking. And it's definitely getting fuel. So, I'm stumped, fuel, ignition, but no bang? What gives. C

Good on you I say. Doing a brilliant job! Keep it up. Good that you're fixing this instead of breaking it! -

Newbie starlet owner 2015 - opinions on waterless wash?
Calum122 replied to tommyn1991's topic in EP91 Glanza Progress Blogs
It's possible to be the radiator cap mate. I've had this exact problem recently mate. For me, added pressure was causing water to expand into the water bottle overflow. I tried a few things, and was head gasket. But it's a really easy job to do on the drive with minimum of tools. It takes only a few hours, including the removal of intercooler pipes and what not. But if the rad cap is broken, it won't allow water to go into the overflow. I bought a dog of a starlet and was abused. Simarly, I was finding little, or no, maintenance for it in the past 3 years. Since it's been up to me -
:/ Shame I paid dollar for mine Put it this way. It won't go in the bin or scrappy. Is collection okay?
-
I think they are Ollie. PM me a price. You're local so if my brother wants one we can come and collect? At least then he'll bring his car so we can see if they are the same? As said I know he said he wanted one. Just whether he actually gets one or not. But I can only ask...
-
Grrr! Someones pride and joy. How hard is it to understand??? Scum
-
Damn I want a decent rx7. Well decent body wise. Engine I want to build. One day...hopefully.
-
I'm sorted now. But pm me. A price cause I know my brother is after one so I'll forward it onto him. No promises just that he said he wanted one so I can point him in your direction if this is still the case.
-
I have done this on my EP82 with no problems quite recenty. So if everything is plugged in correctly then ther eshould not be any problems. I definitely did not have an earth wire. Well infact I was just using Indiglos.

Awww no! Glad you're getting on te case though. Looks sweet.

Turbo intake - mesh or air filter?
Calum122 replied to scottieboi94's topic in Intake, Turbo & Exhaust
I never understood the risks of running meshed. It seemed like too little a gain. When I picked my car up it had no filter, no idea how long it was like that for. But I agree, LOUD AS FOOK! I was going to concur on the cold air intake. Surely that cold air would get hot regardless and as people said, it's the job of the intercooler to cool it. -
To be fair, well said. I wasn't convinced that that was the appropriate way for it to be setup. And again, I'm glad I asked.

Although just reread his message and....I don't agree with the final statement http://www.ukstarletowners.com/topic/91758-hks-actuator-with-standard-lowhigh-buton/?hl=solenoid#entry1096056 Brags about hitting fuel cut? Sorry but I was under the impression Fuel cut was deadly for an engine?
