  1. Hhhmmm, not good Ben, if that's the case then I bet it's shagged all of the Studs. Aye it was tight, like when using nylocs, I just thought that was the nature of these bolts to stop them rattling loose.
  2. Ah ryt, I'll bear that in mind. I think I'm lucky(ish) that the stud has snapped flush to the manifold. So I might get my mate to weld a nut to it and turn it out. And put in a new one. Just gutted to be so close, yet so far. How you getting on with your beast?
  3. Nightmare, lol. I'm always cautious about helicoils. It wants to be clocked dead on, something that wants to be done by a professional.
  4. Aye, I'll bare that in mind Ol. I've rinsed enough money on this slag this month. Still plenty left, I just don't want to spend anymore on it for now. But I'm sure a PM will come your way in time. This one I will get my mate to do I think. I'm just going to run it to fix my bike and then crack on with this later. Problem is, everything is just a serious tight fit, I can't be bothered to do the work myself at this moment in time, and I sure as hell ain't wasting another head gasket and head bolts, that pissed me RIGHT off lol.
  5. Aww mate, at least you have a sense of humor! I'm sorry to hear about the evo. My mate bought a dog of an evo 4 6 months ago. Spent 3K on it to sell it rock bottom price, he knew it was just going to cost him more and more money. Hopefully you get yours all sort. Keep up the jokes as well, if you can't laugh at yourself....
  6. Yeah my thoughts exactly. I reckon they could. I probably could, I just wouldn't mind actually driving this car whilst in my ownership. I know what will happen. I've spent the last 6 months just sorting it out. Then I'll finally finish it off, and it'll either get nicked, crashed into or I have to sell it. It was rough when I got it and I took it on as a bit of a project but it was just mis-represented. It was suppose to be a good runner just a little tatty around the edges. And to be fair that was the first mistake I made. Next time, the car has to look mint, but mechanically it can be broken. But anyway, I haven't fired her up yet, king lead snapped in my fingers, just deteriated. So I have to get another one of those. Still isn't holding water in the thermostat housing either! THAT WAS THE WHOLE REASON WHY I STRIPPED IT DOWN! So that's annoying me.
  7. Hhhmm, does that title seem familiar? Oh ryt I posted a similar thread a couple of weeks back about me snapping a camshaft journal bolt. Well I took it to an engine specialist and that's all sorted. It cost me another £100 for gasket, bolts and the work. I was reassembling the rest of the car and I like to just renew everything. With my fresh pot of Stainless Steel nuts and bolts. So I splashed out, £25 for 10 proper exhaust nuts. I thought I was the DB's. Apart from the exhaust nuts were absolutely solid to turn without even touching the manifold. That's okay I thought, that's just how exhaust nuts should be, to stop them rattling loose. until eventually SNAP! The stud has snapped off flush with the manifold. Great, is this another £120 I need to spend on gaskets, head bolts and what not to have this fixed? So gutted. Bottom left exhaust stud. As said previously, the car has been off the road ever since I've had it and I've had enough now. I need this car to fix my bike so FCK it. It can blow for all I care, I suffer the performance lost for a few months until I can be ARSED to take it all off again to fix. I would like to think this could be fixed in Situe. I'm not dismantling it all again it's doing my nut right in. I might just drive it to a garage. How much of an issue is this going to cause me. So the top three are tight, and the bottom right. But no bottom left. Brand new exhaust gasket.
  8. Funny isn't the word I'd use. Even just reading that made my blood boil :@
  9. Wow...stunning example
  10. All fixed now
  11. V Nice. I do prefer the Evo 5. A few of my mates have a had 4's and that are absolutely savage cars. Not as tidy as this one though.
  12. Those photos! Absolutely STUNNING! Sorry where do you live? I think I know it, is it heaven?
  13. Not being funny, lush colour for such a lush car. Sorry how big is that turbo lmao! lag much?
  14. Think this is the first proper photo I've seen of your GT, mmm tasty, V tasty
  15. Mines still buggered. My brother bought one. And he's seen a few GT's about Gloucester way. Mine is still a long way off yet which is annoying me. But I'm sure I'll get there.
  16. Ollie that is looking/sounding the tits Excited for you pal. There is another chap I saw the other day in a black glanza down at KFC Cheltenham, nice lad but didn't really know much about what he'd purchased. I think our conversation lasted a whole minute before I realised he wasn't what you might call an enthusiast.... Never mind
  17. Very smart. Loving the work done to this as well
  18. Aww I wanna go to Japan :S
  19. No, but reading more into stuff rather than just hacking away, which is what I usually do :\
  20. I payed £1600 for my Mk3....fcked. So yeah potentially this is a good buy. My bro payed £1800 for his TD04 Mk3 in GORGEOUS condition. So swings and roundabouts really. As people say, sell it for what you want to sell it for.
  21. Annoying Ollie, But a lesson for me at least. Sucks I Know,
  22. Mk1 ftw. And they also run low comp engines mate. My dad took his Mk1 to BBR to have it turbo'd BBR themselves said these engines don't need the compression lowering since they already run low comp pistons anyway.
  23. Avoid, my Starlet was a High wycombe special....lesson learnt. It has been nothing but problems. Bastards
