Alittle in sight into next year's massive regulation changes as well as there impact. Also just on the carbon fiber layering that red bull does is so fine tuned that certain parts will pass the load testing (flexibility regulations). But at a procise load flex to either reduce drag or increase down force. Mind blowing stuff, really next level. Really impressive understanding of carbon fiber architecture. I can't tell you how blown away i am about this.
  2. There not. I've measured them my self the 4efte and 5efe are the same but the UK ep91 has a different intake cam around 1mm lower lift on the 4efte and 5efe. I'm yet to measure the gen1 4efe out of the ae101 and ep80. Trust me it's true anuff. Measure them, don't just read specs and believe them. Time to embrace the truth. There are quite a few specs on that sheet that is incorrect. From power out, to injector size to cam profile.

How to close race, look how smooth there movements are this allows close racing. Now watch what happens when you are aggresive and unable to race close. Not to take it away from redbull that team have done a amazing job with this car such a great team and we are seeing Lewis back at the factory putting in the hours needed catch up.

Sorry about late reply skinny. Since being back there's a ton of stuff to catch up on. Yeh it's been great veiwing. The dnf king (mad Max) back at work. Wondering how if you drive like a angry kid you get involved in accidents and bottas just not braking into the 1 of the sharpest corners on 1 of the narrowest tracks IN THE WET!!!!???. Loving the battles and how close the grid is this year. Gutted Perez has not just tried to be consistent rather than going all out he would be closer to the top at this point if not at the top. Haha I know what you mean about Christian Horner. It's as if he doesn't understand he's racing here. This is what and has always happend. Also Albon back from his new flat in Monaco (swapped with perez) and in DTM. Not a great first race but he is to used to F1 teams and there ability to setup the car. The dtm cars are no were near adjustable on setup. He needs to learn to drive over the limit the tyres and car will take alot more abuse.
  5. Nice work do you know about the higher lift 4efte turbo inlet cam. I've not been threw your build, yet, you might be running 5ehfe cams or bigger but if not it's true the 4efte has a much better inlet cam it's also run on the UK 5efe paseo engine. Good to see your running the power gen 1 inlet, how to you compare this to the itb setup you had & also what size itbs did you use.
  6. Sorry about late reply. The 2x pin connector grey in colour and not connected, is for your brake fluid level warning. It goes to your brake master cylinder fluid float. Yeh the other valve is the high low boost solenoid. If you don't have the button for the dash to operate this valve then remove it and just run high boost. Other wise you might and will probably just be on low boost (fail safe mode).
  7. great to know thank you. great work.
  8. the filter should work. THE PIPES TO THE STEERING RACK VALVE, you can blank off most of the starlet lads do this, ive blanked them off on both my paseo and ep91 build. i cant tell any difference with engine loading at low rpm. the blue electric valve in the picture is for the charcoal canister. this is a big round black canister that sits against the bulk head. the job of this canister is to store fuel vapor from the fuel tank breather (YOU CAN TRACE THE FUEL TANK VENT PIPE, IT GOES UNDER THE CHASSIS TO THE TANK) making it a enclosed system, environmentally friendly. when this opens the engine draws out the fuel vapor that is stored in the canister. you can remove these (valve, pipes & canister) and blank off the pipes to the engines throttle body. ive done this and i use a motor bike fuel tank vent valve on the fuel tank breather pipe, this allows the fuel tank to draw in air as the fuel level in the tank drops. this does also bring performance gains. firstly it stops the older saturated canisters (these require replacing) from causing a vacuum in the fuel tank, when this happens the fuel that the fuel pump is trying to deliver to the engine is being sucked back to the tank. next time you fill up see if there is a sucking noise from the fuel cap as its removed. if so the canister is ready to be replaced. also the throttle body area is a key area for the inlet system when there are more pipes added it causes air turbulence where these pipes meet, this reduces both peak flow rates and air velocity/speed. it really neatens up the engine bay. i will put a picture up of the vent valve. 1*Motorcycle Tank Gas Fuel Valve Breather Hose Tube Vent-Cap For Dirt Pit Bike | eBay no engine warning light or diagnostic trouble codes are stored. the black electrical valve circled in the picture im told is to help the engine when it comes under load from the air con pump, providing a slight increase in rpm at idle when the air con is on. im really enjoying your build great work, keep it up. its going to be something special.
  9. Nice pictures, ho's stand is that.
  10. The original zisco exhaust manifold from my turboed ep going on soon. Yeh I'm loving it. It's around 110hp at present. Working out the power to weight is around 130+ish hp and the feel of the power delivery with the alloy flywheel it revs really well with a great hit of torque around 4.2krpm. the rpm drop (running the alloy flywheel) because of the longer stroke of the 5e when you clutch in is alot better than on the shorter stroke 4e. I've driven a modded 4e running a the ee11 corrola inlet and the paseo running these mods is completely different. Alot more torque and power delivery is close to a (low torque fast/high revving) b16 honda proformance engine, with the shape of a integra/celica/mr2 Also because of the low drag shape its better to sit in behind something really fast on the motorway, doing this I can get the paseo nearly off the clock which is near impossible with the starlet, it's suprised alot of much faster modern sports cars. Also because of the shape and low center of gravity + higher engine torque speeds from 90 to 110mph are alot better. I recon this car would suprise on the drag strip at around 350hp. Again turboed eg civic and dc2 honda times I'd estimate. The UK 4efe definitely needs to run the 4efte inlet cam, the standard ep91 4efe inlet cam flattens the high rpm power no couple this with the tubular inlet and I shudder at the impact of the higher speed capabilities (all rev and no pull, "FLAT") Just the turbo cam would make a good difference to a standard 4efe.
  11. is there any updates on this. ive nicked the idea of using the zisco rams horn exhaust manifold on the paseo 5e i have for now till it goes turbo next summer. great idea. im only going 4 to 1 with the runners thew.
  12. great work brian, you have climate control also on yours nice rare thing.
  13. frankie here is my email add send me those wiring diagrams you have ill get to helping on the wiring side if i can. nuttersam@yahoo.com my full name is Samuel Nutter
  14. alot of itg sock filters are not oiled, and because of this should not be placed in a way that water/weather can get to them directly. right i see, another member on here messaged me about your earlier reply, i didnt see the post earlier. yeh i was informing our friend ho's build it is. the gains in this area are some of the best for a standard 4efte looking for best power gain you should not take things so personal, or it could be just to show you know either way i hope you and the family are well, and your mood is good. attention of frankie: i have seen efi pipe to re circulation valve blanking plates to remove the standard plastic valve and install a aftermarket bov (blow off valve). every body loves the sound of a Blow off valve.
  15. i just nick named it the hot pipe as it sits right above the exhaust manifold and is black it gets silly hot, another reason to move it. i was not even aware the starlet lads have a hot pipe. efi stands for electronic fuel injection?. is this because of the sticker found on some?. i normally call the pipes you talk about as low/high pressure pipes or inlet/outlet.
  16. agreed on that point, but if you want some tips on very cheap great options to mod it to take a aftermarket air filter and bov valve give me a shout the power gains here are some of the best on standard boost pressure (pulling power, puts you and the passenger right back in your seat). i recon you could do it for an extra £100 British pounds, also good to port the waste gate at the point your at now. taking the turbo off after this point is biggish job. itg sock air filters come in different sizes and are pro used. around £20. the hot pipe is one of the biggest power restrictions on the 4efte engine. it limits air flow into the turbo. the wires in the picture are for the auto ecu/vehicle abs. not needed, also not found on the manual 4efte ems/ecu.
  17. I'm in love with this car. I've been tweaking the power over the past weeks, and I've got it spot on the fuel pressure is 3.4bar unregulated (peak fuel pressure) and 2.8bar regulated on the pink 7afe 230cc denso injectors (standard 5efe ems/ecu). I've adjusted the tps advancing it slightly and I. Running 12deg base ignition timing. (Instead of the factory 10deg). This thing is fcuking rapid, takes corners like a go kart. 900kg, very short wheel track/base, very low center of gravity very little body roll. the Videos coming soon. I've ordered a ep91 rear roll bar kit and a ep91 rear axle adjustable panard bar. As well as a tdo turbo exhaust flange I'm going to fit the zisco ram's horn exhaust manifold that came on my ep91, to the standard 5efe standard exhaust system. i got this idea from an older ukdm ep91 recent brought back to life that is aiming for 4efe normally aspirated power. very impressed with this idea.
  18. Nice model really great tribute to a good friend lost to soon. I hope your well as well as the family. Loving the work on the seats.
  19. I'm looking into this now. It's best to remove the hot pipe and use a aftermarket silicone hose from the turbo (air filter relocation kit) going to an aftermarket air filter, placed were ever you decided in the engine bay. This pipe in the picture (hot pipe) is very restrictive to power output. The only issue here is if you remove this and also use a aftermarket exhaust system (higher flow) you will get boost creep and hit fuel cut (not good for the engine at all). You have to enlarge the turbos waste gate hole (increase its diameter) so as to not get boost creep. as well as use a aftermarket bov (blow off valve) in place of the recirculation valve circled in the above picture. The proformance gains doing this are great. I'll be on the wiring tomorrow.
  20. Sorry frankie. I'm here. Since I've been back home and the UK has come out of lock down the family has had to isolate for 10day as there has been a case of the virous in the house hold. I've been busy building the back garden to how the misses wants it as well as all the house hold jobs that need doing. (Lots of them) To answer your question on the pipes you can blank them off, there to affect starlet/most 4efe vehicles power steering pressure at the steering rack at very low rpm engine/power steering pump (car parks) to help provide good power steering aid and reduce engine load. Look at the top of your steering pump you should see the same valve as on the picture above they can also be routed to there (same valve going the same job).
  21. No worries. Let us know how you get on. I'd also use a boost gauge in there to make sure you do not get any boost pressure. I say this because if you are using a standard ct9 turbo with an aftermarket air filter/kit and an aftermarket exhaust system you will get boost creep. So even if you hold open the waste gate here it will still provide boost pressure to the engine unless the waste gate is opened out (enlarged). You can also install the emb controller but leave the map sensor wire part & ignition wire part alone till you get to the mappers place. Then there is only 2x wires to install.
  22. yeh the gen1 4efe gi engine i suspect. trd ignition leads. 4 to 2 to 1 cast exhaust manifold. any chance you can measure the throttle body internal diameter. what color are the injectors.
  23. I wouldn't use the mx5 part. you can keep the waste gate open (using a spring & disconnecting the turbo actuator.) now keep the 4efe injectors in and it will drive nice to were ever you want it. then install the 4efte injectors & EMB and clip the turbo actuator back in place.
  24. yeh ill get that for you today. ive also recently got some free time on my hands for the next 10days. so ill get back into them wiring diagrams.
