lol naa not the clips that hold the boot on,,,the "snap clips" as some people put it. stops the shaft from poppin out the gearbox,,, i wiggled it the other day and it started leaking oil :S i thought i could get away with leaving them out but clearly not lol

the solid vac line which comes off the actuator to the boost control solenoid coughs out quite a bit of oil, anyone had this?? under my bonnet is plastered lol,,,im thinking tub oil seals but it doesnt smoke wat so ever,,,also my throttle flap was stuck shut the day after i took her for a run anyone heard of this before?? u think the two problems are related?? regards adam

naa it was a glanza engine and loom. as long as u have the pinout diagram of the ecu u just match up each wire.

theres countless ways of doing it,,, jus depends how mechanically minded u r i used nothing but the 91 engine and loom

when u tune any car your going to run into problems. just think car manufacturers test vehicles for thousands of miles before putting them on the road, to guarantee optimum reliability. my starbo is relatively stock and im neva going to wind her up over fuel cut, cuz i know i will start running into bigger issues. theres a reason why 2.0L tubs are like only 230 bhp from factory, because there uber reliable. u cant blame it on the age of the car, makes no difference, u just gota find the comfort zone for her imo a bar is plenny to run through one of these engines, afta that i just think u need to step up a car dont sell it though mate, all cars are nothing but money pits, ALL CARS!! starlets specifically are not unreliable cars, every one is different. just luck of the draw

yea after crimbo im planning for jan for it to b completed

drove it properly for the 1st time today!! with no eml from the knock sensor as well!! goes like a rocket!! i had a ploom of smoke 1st boot but it was just blowing the cobwebs the clutch then slipped goin into third which im hoping was contamination as it had plenty of meat. only other issue was blowing a boost hose lol. overall tho happy with the performance of her step closer

well i done a diagnostics to find code 52,,,knock sensor. when i checked the wiring it had been cut by the previous owner. so i twisted the wire back together (just the inner wire not the shielding) and it done nothing. can anyone tell me how the shielding earths?? and is there any way i can test the knock sensor?? any ideas what my problem could be as im only boosting .5 bar so im guessing my timing isnt altering thanks

there are a few ways of doin it,,,i just have a fte engine and loom,,,cross referenced the pin outs on the ecus and spliced it in!! not the recommended way lol. apparently u can use a ep82 engine and loom as its 2 plug like an N/A,,,or u jus basically re shell a glanza into a sportif,,,probably the best way

your gauge will shoot up like that if its directly earthed

i have a cold start idle of about 1500,,,and wen warm not 2 much lower,,,wen i squeeze the icv pipe the idle drops,,,does it sound like a icv failing?? does anyone know wat resistance should be running to the valve on cold start etc?? i have 12v and a resistance signal wire. i cleaned out the icv with an airline and the idle dropped,,,untill i plugged it in and it raised again,,,obv because the plunger moved wen i forced air in it,,,any ideas tho?!? regards adam
