Chris Green replied to PaulStarletSR's topic in 4E-FTE Engine Discussions
Had this problem last night, checked all of the vac lines etc, no joy. I then adjusted the distributor and that solved the issue. -

Thanks guys, I really need to get the photos uploaded. I've a few small things to sort out tonight, shouldn't take too long. Can't wait to put some miles on her and get the ITB's on! I'm so glad that she is put back in and running sweet, fingers crossed there will be no issues this time.

Cheers guys! Thanks dude, won't be running the throttle bodies until this weekend or next, I'm going to play it safe while running the engine in. I'm eager to know as well. I plan on getting it mapped within the next month or so, power figues to come shortly. Do it lol!

Looking at those charts, GEN 1 (EP82 Soli) produces 85ps @ 5500rpm the same the GEN 2. -

where should i go from here
Chris Green replied to Mernagh's topic in N/A E-Series Engine Discussions
I know they use a hose connecting the throttles to the stubs, but the one on eBay has just used the standing starlet manifold. If you look the hoses are really stretched at the bottom. The standard manifold isn't regularly sharped. -

I managed to get a set running on mine, still need a bit of tweaking though. The ones on the eBay ad might not work with your setup as the TPS is a 1st gen one. Also the ones on the ad, the orignal manifold has been cut and hose just been placed over the bottom of the runners, bit of a bodge job really. -
That's a good write up, never knew a lot of that. Nice find

Right guys, I though I would have a go at making a few memes one the way home, some are on slightly controversial topics, so please don't take them to heart! http://s1054.photobucket.com/user/cgreen1993/media/Images_86171System_Random_jpg_jpg_zps7fbdc9cc.jpg.html'> -

Just checked, there is no recess on the block, just the old pump.

Ah, just dropped you a PM. I will have a check now.

Hi guys, Just got a new genuine Toyota oil pump, but they are slightly different. The one which came off the engine has a recess for the seal to go round the actual centrifugal pump whereas the new one doesn't. What's the story is it the wrong pump, which way does the new one seal? Cheers.
