  1. Hmm we use barrels of Fuchs oils at work........... Interesting 😀
  2. Well to begin with I had a fiesta mk3 1.1 popular. I then progressed to an escort 1.4 mk5 then an Orion. I had a mondeo for a short time as I wanted to fit the zetec lump to the escort. That didn't happen. Then I ended up with another fiesta 1.6s which I fitted the xr2i kit to with an escort rst box to. That then died of tin worm so I transplanted to a newer shell. That then also died so I bought my first jap car. I soon got bored of the 1.6 engine in it so did something different. I put a ca18det out of a 200sx in it. Shortly after that it died a horrible death (as most ca18 owners
  3. I've always used 10w40 in mine. Slightly thicker when cold but who kicks their cars head in when cold any way? Most oil filter brands are the same inside. Mann, blueprint, bosch they all do the same job.
  4. Facebook = my entertainment on a dinner/lunch break at work.
  5. I've upset a 320bhp Porsche by telling him mine was only a 1.3. His face dropped when he came to the realisation that he "lost" But besides that I just love how good these things handle on the back roads. Don't even have to be going fast and they are still impressive.
  6. count me in! Damn good day on the Sunday. Looks like they have lowered the prices from previous years too 1 ro55ifumi 2 funny onion 3 flaminsam
  7. Hey guys and girls. Bit of an interesting find here for people wanting a softer or stiffer ride in their starlets. In the link there's a calculator for getting the correct spring rate for your car. It involves a bit of measuring and a bit of weighing but it can help with the transformation of the ride in your car. I'm currently running d2 coilovers and due to my ep82 being stripped out the ride is really harsh. Il be using this calculator to figure out what spring rate will be ideal for me. http://www.ridetech.com/info/spring-rate-calculator/
  8. Between the two of us we have 6 starlets in total. Been an emotional journey from start to finish but got there in the end. Seems at one point it was two steps forward and six steps back 😒 Hopefully she will have a full mot on her by this afternoon so I'm looking forward to seeing it. I'm going to have to write up a how to thread on the wiring part. If your not using the abs or air con any more it can reduce wiring in the bay dramatically. 😄
  9. Have you removed the air conditioning? If so behind the passenger side headlight there will be an oval plug with four wires going to it. You need to bridge out the wires in pairs and it should stop the fan from running constantly. Had this problem with my gt. Failing that you could rewire the fans and switch on the engine if your electronically minded.
  10. As above. The 99 Corolla 4efe uses wasted spark and has no distributor. It uses a crank signal from a sensor located on the oil pump housing. This allows a more accurate spark to be sent to each cylinder and possibly giving more power hence the bigger bhp figure.
  11. Sweeeeeet only about an hour and half away now
  12. The sx Was in enduro mode. Still pretty comfortable to ride and not really unstable either. I had my doubts when I first got on it with it having enduro/road tyres on it but it handled really well.
  13. Could have been bear or a lad that lives out our way. I've been told your crx is due for an asbo with that exhaust
  14. I miss my bike. Had a sv650 as my first bike after passing my test. So much torque bottom end it was amazing. I passed my test on a Ktm 250sx a few years ago and it was such a fun bike to Learn to ride on. Not amazingly quick (topped out at about 85) but so light and nippy it made it fun. I've heard nothing but good things about the drz400, in fact the ccm 404 uses the same engine. Both supermoto/trail bikes and not too heavy. Maybe when I can afford it I would like a supermoto, but charl would like me to get something like a cbr600.
  15. So let me get this right. You bought a car you know nothing about. Turned the boost up to what can only be described as "too much" and the entire starlet community are retarded? Erm.........I'm not sure how to reply to that without laughing/crying on the inside!
  16. I think it's m14x1.25?
  17. Sounds like Adrian flux may have sorted their act out. I may try them next time on the gt. Thing is I'm nearly 30, got 11 yrs no claims and they still wanted 600+ from me. Jog on sunshine.
  18. The ultimate isn't a stand alone unit. It can only modify the signals hence it being a piggy back. All I'm saying is theoretically you can only run 50% bigger than stock injectors. Your 550cc injectors must have the smallest duty cycle known to man at idle. Not to mention 1+3/2+4 injectors fire at the same time. If your car is running well then that's fine. Seems people want a lot from what is still a 1.3/1.5 litre engine.
  19. Here is a link to a thread on scoobynet. It lists all the vf series turbos and gives a brief description. Bear in mind they are talking about a 2.0l engine spooling the turbo and not a 1.3. http://www.scoobynet.com/general-technical-10/945355-ihi-vf-turbo-specs.html
  20. Problem with emAnage blue and ultimate is the fact you can't fit injectors bigger than half the size of the standard injectors. Reason being is the ultimate and blue can only modify signals to the injectors and standard ecu. If you look on both the ultimate and the blue the dials only go to +\- 50%. So a standard ecu uses 295cc injectors, half of that is roughly 150cc. Add these two together and you end up with a theoretical maximum injector size of 445cc. People running bigger injectors will be running rich on idle burning more fuel. As for the turbo size the td04 becomes a hair drier after
  21. Seconded! Evans coolants are some of the best waterless coolants around. Boiling point of 180 degrees. Costs around 140 to convert to it though so pricey stuff. But these starlets do suffer with heat so may be a worthy investment for the track.
