  1. Right then it's decided, meet at j27 for a departure time of 4.30 to MFN. Get there any time before 4.30. Myself and charl are coming down in both Cars to make up a few more numbers
  2. So what's the plan then people? Is it a 4pm meet at j27 then head down to MFN for 4.15?
  3. It may be worth telling the garage how to do it just incase. It's not just a case of slapping a timing light on and setting it up. The ecu constantly changes the ignition timing hence it being "all over the place". With it locked (piece of wire across diagnostic pins) it fixes the ignition timing to a single point. The coolant temp will probably not move much due to having a good cooling system. It's the combustion process that gets too hot. Ignition timing and fuelling play two key roles in preventing excessive heat in the combustion process.
  4. The 10 degrees is base timing. It should be set with the piece of wire attached in the diagnostic socket. (Same two pins that you use to check fault codes) with this wire attached it locks the ignition timing allowing you to set the base timing. But as many people above have said get the knock sensor sorted. Excessive heat in these engines kills them, quickly.
  5. The sound of the engine plus the noise from the straight cut box sounds awesome!
  6. It's one of dan and Phil garbutts friends from up Whitby/Tyne way. It's on bike throttle bodys and was running pretty rich due to a temp sensor fault. Mint looking car though
  7. To be honest it's running well, upset some corsa vxr's on the way home too. Should get a northern meet on the go this summer again. Scarborough/Whitby even somewhere like goathland? See if we could get a picture of our cars in front of the old petrol station or something ;)
  8. Yea that was me driving funny onions advance. It does sound a little lumpy sometimes but it's fine. Must be the way it's been mapped maybe? It does go like a stabbed rat though 😄
  9. We have many boy racers around hull. There must be at least 6-7 car clubs around here all with varying styles and genres of cars. Thing is though the majority of people in the car scene around here have been on the go for many years. If one person doesn't know someone directly they will know them by their car or through a friend. Fact of the matter is that even though there are some mature "modified car enthusiasts" there are also a lot of so called "boy racers". Problem is that the public and the police can't distinguish the two. So we all get tied to the same brush unfortunately. 😒
  10. Did you find it a pain putting the dog bone part back in with the automatic adjuster? The circlip at the bottom can also be a bit fiddly.

  12. Yup saw the BMW get pulled. The copper was hot on his tail though. Saw a couple of glanzas and I think two gt's. Good night though. We need a proper starlet meet sometime in the summer again
  13. Rdt.tv maps these most of the time.
  14. Anything will fit with the right amount of modification. But just a straight swap? Limited to 4e and 5e I'm afraid.
  15. Paintwork is in good condition considering it's a 96 glanza!
  16. All the gear with loads of ideas! Spot on rob. Sorry didn't get chance to chat at MFN
  17. Yea you can do. Just be sure to block off the pipes on the inlet/throttle body.
  18. Cheers for the reply Tim sounds like he is playing monopoly or something buying everything he can find
  19. Same wideband as mine. I ran my cables through the old a/c grommet as I removed the evaporator from behind the glovebox. Don't forget to set the wideband up first before plugging in the sensor. ;)
  20. Just had a catch up on your thread john. Glad you got sorted out with will. Il be paying him a visit this summer all being well
  21. Charls advance was there also but we got there later on unfortunately :/
