That MOT emissions chart is out of date. 90% of starlets burn oil to some degree, thats what will be showing up in the emissions test. The standard CATs on these are well worn out by now, that wont be helping matters. Removable sports CAT fitted into the exhaust is probably the way to go. Try that before spending thousands on an engine rebuild and turbo rebuild. We need to see pictures of the suspension component mounting to offer accurate advise.

Flathead screwdriver. Or 'driveshaft seal removal tool' into google. Just do not put anything between the surfaces to scratch the mating face, or else you will have a leak. Pry against the lower half of the seal and the top will pop out.

Best case is a new set of bearings and a crank regrind.

I sent my td04 to midland turbo to have a billet comp wheel fitted, a lot cheaper than the cash that TD or Race Tech charge for the 300 td04 hybrids. I havent got mapped yet so cant put a figure on mine though!

Idle speed is related to coolant temp. If its colder it will idle higher. There was a guide on TGTT on how to set the idle if you want to, you need feeler gauges and a multimeter.

This kinda cold weather can make exhaust fumes look a lot worse than they are, especially with having no cat. Just keep an eye on oil and coolant levels.

A ep91 n/a is 2 plug, the 100ps ECU will plug in but not start. There are pins that need to be swapped about.
