  1. if al is connected right then the mechanisme inside the lock there is damaged not pushing on the release i think

  3. use a piece of plastic to slide inbetween the body and the cap get some1 to hold the lever in the car up untill you open it iif it works then the tensioner is bent on the hinge
  4. seems u changed everything so break in connector or wiring from dizzy to ecu and from ecu to igniter and coil check with a multimeter i have also seen before where the plug is on the dizzy itselve it cracked and shorting out on eurth let me know how you get on with this

  7. set your engine timing first then unscrew your 2 12/13mm bolts of the distributer and slide out the distributer you will see on the shaft from the dizzy end a little lobe that fits in the camshaft twist that around so you can feel if it moves freely or is lumpy hindred in any way it shoulld be smoot also twisting this shoulld make the injectors tik and spark if it does nothing then take the cap of the distributer you wont be able to do damage by just undoing the cap !!! check for a damaged roter and clean the 4 pins inside the cap there is a screw holding the roter to th

  11. most people use some electronic diagnostic equipment that tells them everything if their used to OBD fault codes and CANBUS systems. People like that I like to just class as "fitters". ha ha adam thats spot on cracked me right up , its true modern day mechanics dont know how to fix without diagnostics tools if the computer didnt tel them there clue less ​would love to see them mess with the old carbs and points setups ha ha most cant even set up a carb without help

  13. fuck the apprenticeship thats for school boys ha ha ha but i understand what you meen with it !!! its simple to your question no fix no pay you guys have the sales of good laws wich are very strong in the uk id use them and get the boys in blue involved if needed be !! you must find a good friend who is a mechanic and always go same place 1s you found the place/person so they get to know your car / you i hate working on cars i havent worked on before
  14. wel get a looong screwdriver and check for play on your pistons fit the screwdriver tru sparky hole and rotate crank left right you will feel if there is indeed a knock on a rod your cam lobe might be knocking to as you said is damaged any chance of a pic of the lobe in question ?? pics say more then words
  15. did you fit the bar on the lock propperly ?? can you open close on the smal lever of the lock itselve
