Bean Posted February 18, 2013 Share Posted February 18, 2013 when i sent my vf35 off to turbo dynamics for a rebuild i had previously had the penny welded shut on the wastegate. they said when they tested it that it had warped a little and wasnt a perfect seal. they machined it and welded it up properly. whether they said all this to get more cash out of me i dont know. but worth checking i guess. ttestarlet Posted February 22, 2013 Share Posted February 22, 2013 Really cool build! regarding the turbo, to be sure it was sealed with mine i removed the 'penny washer' and machined a plug, pressed it in and grinded it flush in the exhaust port side and tig welded it complete.
