yeah definetly on the 4e marks, it does spool up quicker than a 4e by about 500rpm but it should be more like 1000rpm, i am wondering if my wastegate is leaking or not welded shut properly

when i sent my vf35 off to turbo dynamics for a rebuild i had previously had the penny welded shut on the wastegate. they said when they tested it that it had warped a little and wasnt a perfect seal. they machined it and welded it up properly. whether they said all this to get more cash out of me i dont know. but worth checking i guess.

Really cool build! regarding the turbo, to be sure it was sealed with mine i removed the 'penny washer' and machined a plug, pressed it in and grinded it flush in the exhaust port side and tig welded it complete.

^ I just got a solid piece of 25mm solid bar 3mm thick and tig welded it the whole way around in the wastegate hole, then a quick tack on the penny to stop it flaping around

Here we go again,

Ordered the forged pistons and rebooked to go back to tuning developments for the 25th April. In fairness they are putting it back on the rollers free of charge to retest it as a gesture of good will.

Lets hope it works out better this time eh!
