Zeldoz Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 So, had the Glanza only 4 days. But, the HKS Silent Hi Power is not cutting the mustard. The thing is shiny as fook and looks literally brand new. I'm awaiting a decat in the post to hopefully see if it livens up the exhaust but im not holding my breath. I'm just wondering why would it be so quite? - I know the clue is in the name, but I've heard a few in real life which are considerably louder? Would this be down to a completely stock engine setup and standard boost? Would a decat make any difference to the sound of it at all? Thanks Quote
Phil Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 I have a Silent Hi power main exhaust section, modified to straight through if your interested?? drop me a PM Phil Quote
Ollieh17 Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 I have a different exhaust, but mine got louder and the tone changed with a decat Quote

Jamie1st Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 My mates was always noticeably quieter than other systems, I run a jperformance system (soon going 3'') and it isn't very loud but a lot louder than my mates HKS.Not saying there will be, but worth checking to see if there's a removable silencer bung in the back, as a lot of systems give you the option to run with it either in or out Quote
Mr. Chem Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 Silent HiPower kinda indicates what to expect.Get the mid box deleted, then you'll have the noise you're after Quote

daniel_g Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 A ported or aftermarket mani should make a difference in note, as will changing the turbo Quote
MARC MOSS Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 Wonder what the word silent means on the exhaust?Hang on Lol Quote
mikey4410 Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 get rid of the centre box as its noise will increase without this.first thing i did with mine decat will help man Quote
pick1 Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 Get a custom middle section made that will deffo liven it up with a de-cat Quote
RobSR Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 Like said, remove the middle box, the front section of them isnt massive large either. Quote
JayJ Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 I have also this exhaust with Zisco mild steel mani, Tongs gt spec and Blitz decat and sound isn't much louder than with the stock setup. As said earlier removing the mid box would make the biggest difference. Quote

DavidAshton Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 On my first Glanza it came with a HKS Hi Silent and stock engine. As other have said, decat will make it louder but it will still be pretty tame, if you want it louder get the mid box removed and go straight through. Here is a quick vid of mine, at this stage it had decat and mid box removed: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8GqEpzIVFgQ Quote

I have a decat and ported stock mani too. Here's a video of my power getter in action. >http://vimeo.com/67005187 Quote
smithyithy Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 (edited) Who needs a loud exhaust when you've got the sound of a turbo sucking in great lumps of air?! Overly loud exhausts are for the N/A boys *cough*Civic*cough* Edited October 16, 2013 by smithyithy Quote
Mr. Chem Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 For reference this is my silent HiPower. Decat, standard mani, ct9 and mid box delete. My mates na supra has a nur spec.http://www.flickr.com/photos/pickupapeach/10332318385/in/photostream/ Quote

rinseep82 Posted October 18, 2013 Posted October 18, 2013 I have a silent power no cat no middle only back box as baffles and it's still not very loud but it's just right for me Quote
EPnick22 Posted October 23, 2013 Posted October 23, 2013 I have the Silent Hi power too, the middle box was already cut out when I bought the car, compared the noise to my friend who has the same exhaust with the middle box and mine sounds a million times nicer (not being big headed lol) but yeah, say goodbye to the middle box itll solve it!! sd075 Posted October 24, 2013 Posted October 24, 2013 I'd kill to get my hands on a silent exhaust system which looks like it's going to roar as hell!I currently have a Japspeed/Jperformance catback which isn't really silent. Quote
