  1. Theres no markings on the boxes unfortunately. It wont be an mr2 box as the shifter mechanism is on the front of the gearbox for them and also it wouldn't bolt up as they have 4age engines and the boxes aren't easily interchangeable It could easily be a corolla box or even a normal starlet 5 speed Sent from my SM-G903F using Tapatalk
  2. Good point, make sure the charger has been serviced/oil changed regularly Sent from my SM-G903F using Tapatalk
  3. Cheers guys. Will stick them in when i swap my doors over and put the recaro doorcards in Sent from my SM-G903F using Tapatalk
  4. Best speak to whoever is going to be building or doing the engine work reguarding the pistons as the block might need boring out. They could also recommend the compression ratio to go for, as with a skim, thinner head gasket?, cams these all play a role in building an engine and moreso in an n/a engine. Also are you having any head work done whilst you're at it? Sent from my SM-G903F using Tapatalk
  5. This, it Really is the cheapest mod you can do. Get rid of the sound proofing and all the unnecessary crap. See if you can get some nice light weight 14"s too, smaller wheels help with acceleration. A really light wheel would be around the 4kg mark, maybe even a bit less with a 14". 6. Mpg isnt great and the stock shocks cost a fortune from toyota. like for the price of 2 you can get a set of coilovers with change expensive lol. Then they have the usual Tsport issues which aren't anything major just little niggles. Flap on cubby hole breaks Heater matrix blocks and needs flushing Slider for the seat plays up. Car can leak from weather strip on the roof if windscreen wasnt replaced properly. Think thats the main bits lol basic early 00s budget cuts leading to poorer quality cars imo Sent from my SM-G903F using Tapatalk
  7. Gearing does seem like 5 speed ratios. Have you tried shifting into where 5th would be? I know when we fit 6 speeds to our cars we have to notch the shifter mechanism to allow for the extra movement over to reverse maybe its the same case with yours and 5th? Im actually surprised you had a 4 speed in an ep91 i didnt even know they did them. Sent from my SM-G903F using Tapatalk
  8. I know all my other pictures have gone because of photobucket but for now ill carry on undeterred. I was currently mid wrap on my carbon overlay window controls, well i took a dremmel to them this afternoon and sanded the edges smooth, really happy with the results if im honest. Just need to get some finer grit paper and finish them off. Sent from my SM-G903F using Tapatalk
  9. If you look at modern performance head designs they actually resemble FE heads more than toyotas older GE heads. I know the rest of the engine is also in part responsible but theres a tuned n/a 4afe making more power than a lot of tuned 4ages. Turbo will be the easiest way to make power but if you want to go N/A go for it. Sent from my SM-G903F using Tapatalk
  10. Best to fill up till the pump clicks off, do a good amount of kms 150-200 or so. Fill back up to the 1st click on the pump and make a note of the amount of liters you put in and the distance travelled. From that point you can then work out a fairly accurate mpg reading. (or ltrs/100kms if youd prefer) mpg is worked out ltrs/4.5 = approx gallons used. Then divide kms diven by gallons used. So for example 30ltrs/4.5=6.6gl 200kms/6.6 =30kpg (or 18mpg) As colin said the gauge can read miles out. Park on a hill, throw it around a corner accelerate or brake heavily and the g
  11. I had a brand new battery drain within 2 weeks. Tried finding what was causing the drain with a multimeter but there wasnt any draw on it at all so just resorted to disconnecting the battery until the cars on the road lol
  12. If you could try again it should be sorted now Sent from my SM-G903F using Tapatalk

  14. Theyve introduced a paid for service now, you cant hotlink to forums without paying $400 a year now. Look at my build thread and you'll see all the images are blanks Sent from my SM-G903F using Tapatalk
  15. As a note of a few of the points raised, I've just downloaded tapatalk and it would appear a few of the requested features are on there. Easy Direct pic uploads. Forum chat Liking on posts Direct to phone Notifications for messages and followed topics. Sent from my SM-G903F using Tapatalk
  16. Just downloaded it. Actually seems pretty good, sort of feels like facebook but in a forum skin. Will see how i get on with it over time but if you're not sure I'd give it a go. for now heres a random pic to test its functionality.
  17. There was a guy in oz the did heated screens for race cars, might be useful in canada lol
  18. Either of them are a good shout, you could use silvertop 20v rods and get them shot peaned and balanced and they would be good for 8500-9000rpm with some arp bolts.
  19. Id say you did pretty well if that was 240hp, i got dicked by a relatively stock 98 spec dc2 type R. Saying that, It did run 14.1 1/4's with a boot full of shit somehow. Weight saving will be the best route with this, refresh the engine, get it tuned then set about reducing the cars weight, a passenger in mine makes such a huge difference.
  20. I know i spoke to you on facebook but i cover the swap in more detail here http://www.ukstarletowners.com/topic/6907-ep91-4age-engine-swap-discusion/page-2#entry632910
  21. 200hp from a 1.6 20v is a big ask, you'll want high comp pistons, stronger rods and a lot of revs. Id expect around 180hp with what you've mentioned if you get it mapped up. Dont rev the stock 20v rods too much as they are the big weak point. If youre really serious id build a 7age. 1.8 4afe bottom end but 20v pistons and 20v head or buy a manon racing products (MRP) 9age kit and youll be set for 240hp and 10k rpm 😁
  22. I've not found any easy ones to use off of my phone, if using a desktop/laptop then imgur has been suggested. I been googling around and seen that Smugmug.com is recommended fairly often but is $5.99 a month, in theory that should future proof against them introducing a huge annual fee in future but don't take my word for it.
  23. Probably miesters after the last one of these topics was anything to go by. They're also a trader on the forum and offer 0% finance over 12 months so also fairly affordable.
  24. Can you borrow another off a friend? Sounds like its passed it, im sure sure if they're a serviceable item but if they did go out of calibration i wouldn't expect it to be 100+ psi out.
  25. Seal/oring dried out allowig gasses past?
