I might be wrong but on that link i posted they mentioned just adding a washer to sit on the shoulder and bolt it together with all the old stuff.

My understanding is There should be be a shoulder on the shaft of the shock that should sit against the bottom washer on the top mount. Yours has punched through the washers and now isnt doing its job, Hence the nut isnt clamping the washers and top mount together

If the matrix is flowing then theres zero reason it shouldnt blow warm air. Maybe check the air ducts are all operating. The center 2 usually only blows cold unless you have the dial to face only by the way

If i had to hazard a guess id say it would under read with the UK odometer.

Jack the car up at the front and bleed the coolant system with the heaters on hot. Failing that, whip the pipes off the heater matrix and stick a hose on the end and turn it on. That should flush it out.
