  1. none where i live ;)
  2. yeah i thought it was a replica. if it was genuine it would have mugen stamped to it somewhere, and the tail pipe would be different.
  3. i think the bc's still seem a bit too stiff on the softest setting for everyday road use, the meisters seem great though. and jerrick does a great service.
  4. good work! i dont think ive seen any auto starlets with a decent turbo on yet, just a couple of hybrids. are you going to run a bar? do you think the autobox will take it orite? if your painting it paint the whole thing. i bought a zisco td04l kit a couple of years ago and as soon as the car was started up about 20 seconds later all the black paint just blew off! haha. so get something decent on it. sandblasting them gives the paint a good key to bind to the metal. maybe your mate could do that for you too.
  5. you paid that much for that which is just acts as a t piece!!
  6. i would change the box not the mani!!
  7. the stage its at is sat on the drive lol. its all ready to fire up pretty much. im trying to sort a garage out to keep it in. it wont go out while theres salt and grit down though. atm its got old rusty discs and standard calipers with low pads. i have a set of wms 4 pots the heavy duty kit sat in a box at home though, i didnt see the point fitting them with the car not been on the road. i really dont know if i will take it to the shows mate, its just not that nice on long journeys lol. plus the gt bumpers and stuff on it are ruff as fook! i didnt want to go really low with the compression as i wanted a nice responsive setup. i will only be running 1.5 bar. i cant actually remember what it is now. i remember discusing it with dave via email. i went with the 1.2mm athena gasket and wossner pistons. if i decide i want to run a different turbo and more boost i can just change to a thicker gasket.
  8. cheers guys, i shall try and get some better pics this week some time. what a mission the power steering pump was, took me ages to get it all fitted in, its so tight! i still need to sort the hose out to the rack as ive used the paseo one and its too long for the starlet!
  9. need to get some more up to date pics but these will do for now.
  10. fire fox, but i do have problems, when i click reply on anyones post i can only type infront of it and i cant go back and edit my text, the same when quoting people. i have to click fast reply and paste quotes in.
  11. yep the silver one with the jdm decals is barnes one running the gt35, last i heard it made 515bhp at jdm and 520 at daztec. its been mapped for different boost levels in different gears to help with traction now. im looking forward to the next events should be good.
  12. I dont actually know him. I've spoken to him a few times, seems a nice guy. Johnathan has told me quite a bit about it though. I only know him as barnes. Theres a new corsa c thats been built by a scotish guy that should be a decent match for the other one. There like each others arch nemesis lol.
  13. haha sounds like hes had plenty of practise! i wish i could change the box on my ep85 in an hour. it isnt a preped strip or anything at kirkbride where they do the straightliners events so traction can be a problem for big power cars there
  14. nice to see an older member on here, enjoy the gt!!
  15. yeah i know what you mean but the corsa hes thinking of actually doesnt seem to do that good times where they will be racing for the power it makes. it always seems to have gearbox problems.
  16. daz i would say your car will be running a td04 before this even has a working engine in it!!
  17. i need a new o ring for the compression tester mate. i bought a set from halfords but none fit well enough. maybe walkinshaws might have one that fits.
  18. mini valver on here has one on his. its the slightly bigger one krissy b had made and its making 252bhp on a vf28 at 1.09 bar on a stock engine. the car goes really well and it pulls harder and harder towards the red line. a few things had to be messed about with to get it fitted though. if there going on an ep82 theres a few fitting problems: the coolant line nearest the passenger side coming out of the bulk head the wire for the inlet temp sensor needed extending and it was having problems starting when cold but this might not have been the inlets fault. the throttle is very stiff! if you look through his thread here i thought about getting one for mine but i think im going for a different setup inlet wise.
  19. looks good mr socks! is that a gt2860r?
  20. great work!! thanks for putting all the pictures up. Do you have a full spec list for the car? im interested in the inlet you made, is that a celica throttle body your using? any dyno figures?
  21. which timing light did you buy?
  22. jdm dyno is ran by Johnathan here is his website its located in the middle of no where really, which is handy for testing purposes the nearest town is wigton.
  23. i dont think a gt35 would be needed thats a 600+bhp turbo. just stick with the vf28 mate its rapid as it is! just wait until theres some nice dry weather and then see what you think.
  24. what i mean is you can alter the gearbox internals to gt spec gears but this alters the final drive so the rear diff would be turning at a different speed so something would have to take this up which would lead to something breaking (probably the viscous coupling) so you would need to try and find other rear diffs that would fit and match the final drive, or get it modified - this is how i understand it anyway. ted and weejohn will know better. when my car eventually goes for mapping i was going to get the rear diff checked out and see about getting it geared up as i also want to do it too mine. as soon as you mention going above 60-70 on these forums people seem to get there keyboard warrior head on the go. the ep85 1st gear is so short, i think weejohn and ted fitted the gt 1st in their boxes. hope this helps mr sock
  25. the gt gearbox internals fit in the 4wd box as gaz did it with his but you need to match the final drive up with the rear diff and as far as im aware there isnt any other rear diffs that fit the starlet rear axle. theres plenty of reason for wanting to gear these cars up not just for high speed runs, when your cruising on the motorway at 70+ you wont be reving the car so hard so it will be easier on the car and obviously use less fuel.
