As above, 95degrees is when the fan will kicks in and it should bring it back down to 90 and turn off again.
-
Nice choice, I would rather have 197 any day over cooper. Good luck with it.
-
I put 2.8litres in mine.
-
Tiger seals is strong enough. Just make sure you leave in taped in place securely for long enough for it to cure
-
I would remove the cam cover and pour some oil on the cams and crank over by hand. Put cover back on. Then remove efi fuse and crank until you have built oil pressure, you will hear the engine noise whilst cranking,(bit quieter) when desired oil pressure is reached. and also have look at spark plugs for moisture.

I would ask someone who maps e-manage. (Racetech, tuning developments....) They will best advice you on what you need for your setup I remember some people saying idle issue for 470cc+ injectors. But that might have been because of other reasons.

Is that the first or second time this has happened?
-
Brilliant idea, have some fun and promote your business. both cars looks nice. The plate is cool

If the boost gauge never reaches 0 then your not hitting boost. Check your intercooler pipes and vacuum pipes that go into turbo and solenoids.
-
I think most people get their own fittings and make own lines. Best way to do it really, because you don't know how long the lines need to be, everybody has there catch cans in different places
-
suggestions on how to bring the revs down!
5T4R7ET N/A replied to PaulStarletSR's topic in Alternative Engine Discussions
Check all the lines first for vacuum leak, remove intercooler pipe and stick your finger over the little holes inside the throttle body If you block off wax stat, then you will need to loop the coolant line it uses, remove the wax stat and block it up with some epoxy putty. -
Just have a look at other people engine bays that have catch can setups I used silicone blanking caps, Pick a size and colour and order from ebay
-
All the engine mount bolts are the same so look at all 3. I suspect it might be the rear gearbox might because mine come loose once.
-
Looks like a engine mount bolt. If it's covered in oil then can work loose. This one goes through the engine mount

wax stat and icv removal, whats all needed to be removed?
5T4R7ET N/A replied to rwdrev's topic in 4E-FTE Engine Discussions
I don't have the wax stat or idle control valve either, just running off the throttle body screw. You have to hold throttle for around 10 seconds on a cold start then it's all good. AFR is rich on cold starts! -
What's the verdict on jezza's mounts?
-
That must be brilliant to drive! K20 with turbo have crazy power for what they are, in a ep91 would still be good, think a ep95 with k20 turbo would be mental
-
K20 are awesome engines, would like to see one in a rwd starlet. Kp61 oh yeah

Get a sprung clutch with at least 6, Something like this, might be a bit overkill but better to have something that will last http://id-workz.co.uk/toyota/starlet/starlet-glanza-ep91/drivetrain/competition-clutch-stage-4-sprung-4e-fte

What is the uk spec 4efe stArlet gearbox
5T4R7ET N/A replied to jack_wetone's topic in Drivetrain & Transmission
The paseo gearbox have different ratios I beleive the paseo gear ratios are more like glanza (longer 3rd, 4th and 5th) -
Looks like that this unsprung clutch could not handle quick release of the power and input shaft ripped the teeth off Did the flywheel have any heat marks? Could have some heat involved to do something like that
-
Come out very nice, very economical repair
-
I always liked the table in top gear, believe it's a Porsche engine

Didn't realise prices had gone up so much on these, got mine for 130 new and most were selling for 150-180 at that time and have been for ages, But would agree 275 sounds abour right
