  1. one thing i can say mate is that boost line looks very well indeed. the fueling looks pretty crazy? im not 100% sure but that fueling graph looks nothing at all like my last fuel graph and i got told mine is fueling spot on. i may just be reading it wrong but im sure someone with more experience can shep some light.
  2. yeah liam d is my brother mate
  3. another notts starlet. there mounting up now! sure i will see you about. welcome to the club
  4. well after a fair bit of research ive finally come up with what i feel will be an awsome hybrid. this is the second hybrid ive built, the last one made decent power but i fancied a change and with my added experience and knoweledge i felt i could create something that would be completely different from the rest. ive made this myself for myself on my break times at work, its ended up being a little bigger than i first planned but its all came together nicely. its took a rediculous amount of work and i came up with some unforseen problems, but in the end i got there just as planned. heres the pics, first off heres a comparison of a ct9 compressor wheel and my new hybrid compressor wheel. note the bigger bearing housing too. heres the new bigger compressor cover, ive also internally polished it up so it will spin up nicely! the comp end shaft end, note the wastegate is welded up as im gonna run it externally gated. lots of weld to make sure it dont leak! look at the size of the outlet compared to normal ct9 and here next to ct9 next to Td04 ive also custm made some water lines which reverse the blanking plate so the lines are at the front for ease of access and also for better looks ive gotta wait for my externally gated mani to come and then im gonna put it on and see what happens. as its completely unknown what kinda power its gonna create im gonna run it at 0.8bar to start with and see how it goes. as its not forged and i feel this turbo just may be pushing it a little too much. time will tell. im not looking for massive power with this turbo, although i feel it will create it. im looking for a very responsive spool up and put out around 220bhp at less than 1 bar. thanks for looking! keiran
  5. could possibly mate i will let you know. gonna be a case of fitting the turbo and then just freestyling from there, looks a really easy route, just straight with a slight bend. should be a peice of piss, much easier than yours was and we managed yours sound enough.
  6. we will have to sort something out mate. gonna be a few weeks till it all comes together as there is alot of work involved in this one. also i need to create some pipeing like we did on yours so that may take a while as i need to try and make something up from the few bits and bobs a have lying around.
  7. 1st was andy bills tdo4 glanza made 217bhp (was only running low boost due to injectors) 2nd was me with the 196bhp 3rd was another td04 glanza that made 195bhp (i think) but can remember the user name
  8. yeah that would be me, didnt see you im afraid mate, i was too busy looking at my fuel light as it had been on since j29! was getting worried
  9. me too, im very happy with my first effort and im sure with a better map and a boost controller it will easy be a 200 + turbo. and on my first hybrid build thats pretty good going. the new one uses a much better compressor end, but im using a smaller shaft than before as i dont feel the bigger shaft is needed. i could be wrong though, but if my research is correct then the next turbo should be even better, and if not i can combine the two turbos the create a 3rd version!
  10. right on the last dyno run i came up 3.2bhp short of my target and the boost reading enlightend me to a few problems. after a fair bit of research at work i have finally come up with the keirz spec two hybrid turbo! i have all the parts ready and waiting to be machiened together, gonna custom make an actuator bracket as it doesnt use a ct9 compressor and im also gonna make some intercooler pipeing to suit and create a shorther, thicker more free flowing route. the plan for this hybrid is not massive power, im looking to create the same power, circa 200bhp. but create that power around 1000rpm sooner and also at a lower boost level. gonna try and get 200bhp @0.9 bar. meaning a more responsive and safer running car. my only fear is controlling the boost but i can only face that as i come to it, as until the turbo is built there is no knowing how the boost will behave. should all be ready in a couple of weeks time as i dont get much chance to work on it.
  11. coud well have been me mate. i was coming from sheffield and heading towards notts so came off at 26 at that time of the morning. didnt see any other starlets!
  12. i would happily help out mike you know that mate. looking forward to the next one, be it in the glanza or depending if i decide to sell up i may be in the gs300.
  13. mike might have them all still on his system mate. wait for him to see this. i made 196.8bhp. a little disappointed as i was certain i would break 200. this is it was only boosting at 1bar instead of 1.1 and i actually made peak power at only 0.9 bar as the boost dropped off up the revs. so maybe a small boost leak or some restriction somewhere. or maybe just in need of an ebc.
  14. well you left early after you had your run didnt you, and all but the ones of mine and liams on the dyno was took after you left. so thats what the fuck before you get mardy
  15. good stuff! liam was doing an oil and filter change for me ahead of the the dyno run on sat.
  16. no worrys mate. ive been doing a lot of research at work into the best combinations and the most restrictive areas of the ct9 and i find what was described above (as long as the boost can be controlled) would be immense on a 4efte
  17. really nice mate, like it a lot
  18. the man makes sense, do not blast rocker covers! a lad at my work with blew his car up doing it.
  19. disagree fully mate. basically a few reasons, one being most people will already have upgraded ct9 mani and decat, so using the td04 compressor end on the ct9 turbine housing would be ideal and cost effective. the other thing your missing and this is the main one, using the td04 compressor end with the ct9 turbine housing would create a turbo so different to a standard td04. its charicteristics ( my spellings shit sorry) would be completely different. you would have the higher air flow and compression from the tdo4 compressor end, also lower intake temps due to the more free flowing compressor snail at your chosen boost level. as the ct9 one is much smaller than the td04 (again safer and better power), without having the added lag from the td04 bigger a/r turbine housing. meaning you can have a more responsive turbo capable of creating power close to that of a td04. not trying to make an argument just explaining the reason why it would be better, reasons which you missed or was unaware of.
  20. the hdi one is decent but prepare to have a bit of a ball ache making it fit with your bumper. takes quite a lot of cutting. also you may get hit with import tax. good quality and does its job though. the autobahn one is good for the money. seems to fit easier but the pipeing route is not as good, and im not sure the quality is as good as the hdi.
  21. modifing the pipework would be quite an easy job really but i can see your point, would make fitting a little more difficult for some. ive always thought that the biggest restriction would be the turbine housing. but as dub7's hybrid made amazing power with the ct9 housing i feel it cant really be the main restriction. ive been so tempted to take my hybrid off and swap the compressor cover to a bigger ct12 one to see the difference in power. good to see this is moving forward and im looking forward to the results. im sure it makes for an impressive motor
  22. enzo mate, after you get results from this unit. please will you ask your supplier to send you one out exactly the same but keep the td04 compressor cover on it instead of sticking the much more restrictive ct9 one on. i feel it will make much better power that way and would be really nice to see the difference that bigger a/r compressor cover would add. not slating the product as its a great idea and im sure will work well. its just i see that area as an unnessery restriction
  23. carbon rear scoops all the way. i wasnt 100% convince on them to start with but now i would never change it
  24. nice one mate. is the mani mild steel?
