  1. Seriously the pictures do not do the bay colour justice. It's amazing. It picks up every contour of the bay/firewall. 😍👍🏻
  2. Tetra Shultz is pretty good. Used it on a few of my previous cars with good results. Pretty messy but worth doing. Also you can get the proper wax oil with a tube for doing inside sills and hard to reach areas.
  3. Are you running a gt turbo? Tell him to consult his mot testers manual and watch his face drop. A grey import if declared manufactured before 1996 and can't be found as an EXACT MATCH on the emissions tester database is to be carried out as a non cat test. If it's a glanza unfortunately you are to have a cat.

    cams

Wrong engine code buddy :/ The lift on the standard cams is a perfect match for the valve size. I've read that if the lift is more than 1/4 the diameter of the valve the flow will not increase. you will be more likely to bind on your valve springs and be more likely to valve bounce at high rpm. It's the duration you should be looking at really.
  5. I may have one at my unit. Shal check this evening as was on my old gt shell.
  6. I've gone the opposite route and running a heat exchanger type oil cooler. Found on a Toyota avensis. Pipes into the coolant system and sandwiches between the oil filter and the block/oil filter adapter. Not had a bother with it.
  7. Cheers for the replies people. I guess if the exhaust flows enough there probably is no reason to change it. Just fancied a change at some point. Charl........I like the side exit idea ;)
  8. Has anyone looked into the flow of a gt/glanza exhaust? I read somewhere that from the turbo back if you are looking at 250bhp+ a 3" exhaust is a must. Something to do with differential pressure upstream of the turbo (manifold) and downstream of the turbo (down pipe, exhaust system). Any ideas people?
  9. There will be two fuses somewhere near the ignition. Check those and you may find one or both have blown.
  10. I would say aero motive stealth pump really. Be very careful with the walbro pumps. There are two types and one starts cavitating at 45psi fuel pressure. If I can remember right the aeromotive stealth pumps flow 265lph@30psi but they have a Max pressure of 80psi. They also flow 165lph@80psi. I currently have an automotive plumbing solutions pump fitted to my car. These are a relatively cheap pump but do hold 80psi of pressure and flow 135lph of fuel (I think?)
  11. Hmm I'm tempted to do this to the ep80. Either that or leave it 2e-e with throttle bodies instead. Any pics?
  12. Got a soft spot for the r32 skyline. Nice example right there. Are you going big power or just having a bit of fun with it for now Matt?
  13. The engine coolant temp sensor can cause the engine not to start. If the ecu doesn't have a signal it may be putting too much or too little fuel in. Are you running a fcd at all? These can also interfere with the Ecu. Failing that the fuel pump could have a crap earth. The earth point for the pump is behind the drivers side rear panel in front of the rear strut tower. You can also try bridging out fp and b+ In the diagnostic port to see if the pump runs.
  14. A year ago today the vitara was resprayed by funny onion. Feel like I need to do something else to it before winter......... Side exit maybe ;)

oh hell yeah get some sick as fuck stickers on there. could even start a build thread then? hahaha

  15. Well it was a sad day last week as another ep82 went to the great big scrapyard in the sky. A moment of silence please ......... Any way moving swiftly on the second show I took the new starlet too, hull motor show. Was a good day out and plenty of cars to see (mainly bloody vauxhalls!) While I was there I noticed that I could do with some proper bonnet stays. A slight breeze and I could hear the fibreglass cracking on the standard bonnet stay (fibreglass wings) So I created these from a bit of old clothes rail..... Also I smoothed and painted an inlet manifold as the other
  16. Be aware that the an fittings are a 37 degree taper. If you get cheap fittings they are at a 45 degree taper and will not seal.
  17. Has anybody said Phil Collins yet? Lol 😂
  18. Assuming the oil pick up is low enough etc? I've heard of people having problems with sumps on other cars. An evo for example. Engine was sat on the sump which bent it and caused the oil pick up to be too close to the bottom of the sump. This caused a vacuum effect in the sump restricting the flow and subsequently doing the bottom end in :/ it may be worth figuring out how far your pick up goes into the sump :/
  19. What a difference a couple of years make! Good figures buddy. Such a difference from when I was talking to you at japfest 2 two years ago! 👍🏻
  20. Not entirely. These cars weigh as much as a soggy paper bag so I don't see a real need for power steering. Plus it's less to go wrong in the future
  21. Sounds like a plan I will prob get there for around the same time. Need to get a decent spot for camping lol ;)
  22. What type of sump do you have fitted to your engine Abbott? There are two types on the fte engines. One is quite wide and deep the other is shallow at one end and deep where the oil pick up is.
