  1. Good work on this. I thought you weren't going to spend money on it because you were going to sell it. You must enjoy it too much haha
  2. Got a few things done over the weekend. Changed the water pipes and housings on the hrf engine so it can run a heater again. Took the alloy crank pulley off and fitted a 2e crank pulley. With that engine I will need to stop better so I picked up a second set of wilwod's. Stated making up my custom engine wiring loom. Will get pics of that some time for those who are scared of wiring haha World biggest wastegate haha
  3. Electric cars will be the future. Far more efficient than the internal combustion engine.
  4. Shorty was moaning for ages about his wiring loom till I told him just to plug the engine bay loom into the original loom. You will get there unlike some other little guy I know haha
  5. I've used astra g 1.7 dti discs in the past. Think they are 256 x 24
  6. Could always try priming the oil pump with some oil down the filter hole
  7. I know a place but it's in Winchester
  8. Awesome sleeper loving the budget build, works a treat
  9. You can't really change a lot on the stock ignition system. Especially if your on na system. If you want to go dis you have to change ecu. On the stock system it uses the dizzy cap to fire each plug mechanically. Dis is done electronically by the ecu. Amplifierers have a low current logic signal input and convert the signal into a high power current to drive the coil/s
  10. Will need an ecu for differnt coils. Some coils use an ignition amplifier some runs direct from ecu and dis is distributorless ignition system
  11. Sure your not just hearing piston slap then?
  12. Most of the time you can just swap the shims/ buckets rounds. But shims from other cars fit. Our head uses the save size shims and a zetec engines. And the valve guides are the same lol
  13. Welcome along, I'm not far from Portsmouth. All depends what kind of meet your after?
  14. Bad times, same sort of thing happened to me. Girls don't like it when you love your car more than them haha Have a word with Jd they have a big place
  15. I have one, great for the odd bit
  16. Just need to keep them well serviced and it will be ok. The tsb from vw about the oil feed pipe might be totally differnt and modifyed on the seat's, the clutches wear out on the dsg boxes and they feel a bit jurkey when the oils not been changed. I see loads in with 130k + on and they have never had the gear oil changed lol Drive it and enjoy it. And if shit happens it happens haha
  17. All sorts of bits really Will be making a start on this soon. And going to get some big important parts in a couple of weeks
  18. When the fuel pumps goes, the metal filings block up the jets in the injector. You can test the fuel rail sensor with a multi meter. For it to start it should be around 1.5v or some thing. It's a 0-5v range
  19. Go on cut it! I've cut and drilled the hell out of mine haha
