Westley
Just scrolled through all 242 pages on tapatalk looking at this build... Over a few days span that is! And my god this car is god damn beautiful! The way it's transformed over the years is brilliant! I love it, oh thanks for cap too! At least an item from this car lives on in the same coloured starlet!
Nanglebadger
Haha cheers bud, yeah a few bits from her have gone on to live elsewhere over the years. She's still alive, started her in the garage last weekend again, and as always she fired first time and runs and responds well, just still weeping. But she's not forgotten. Phil. Nanglebadger
Who would have thunk it, I appear to have found some motivation. Rich-k
So glad its being carried on mate!
Nanglebadger
Thats a good question Glanzadude - I originally registered on the forums in 2004, but I had the car before that as by the time I had registered it already had springs, exhaust, wheels and a bucket seat. Maybe since 2003?? Or maybe even 2002 - I'd need to check the previous V5 from when it was registered to my dad as he bought it from a colleague before I owned it. Thanks chaps, looking forward to getting these few bits sorted, especially the suspension as it will be a significant step towards being MOT-fit. Think alot of the motivation is coming from the NorthStars camp at the mo - being involved in the local group discussions and going to meets in the daily just isnt cutting it any longer. Being on the road is still a while away as we're looking to move house this year, but it should be a good bit tidier and closer to an MOT this year. Big thanks as always to Joel and Jay for the continued guidance when considering parts and changes, keeping a buddy on track! Phil.
Hair
Glad to see you've got some motivation again dude! Hope to see this on English soil one day Jack
Nanglebadger
Thanks Jack! Parcel of goodies received from JDM EP - unbelievable service, packed one day, delivered the next. And Matt being the big softie that he is, has thrown in a few pressies too! Seems I now have a lot of work to be getting on with, get this dress-up kit installed! Huge thanks to Matt for the super service! Phil.

Nanglebadger
Silicone vacuum bungs ordered for inlet mani and throttle body. I'll try and upload a few pics over the weekend, especially if I make a start on the dress up kit. Cheers, Phil.

Nanglebadger
Thanks Nick! Sorry Rich - I got a bit sidetracked with spring cleaning the house with the Mrs half the weekend! But yesterday I managed to get a few hours spent on making a start on the engine bay dress up kit. Passenger wing, fuse box, fire wall, bonnet hinges, all done and inlet manifold mostly done. Was alot more fiddly than I anticipated! 2 of the 3 bolts on the drviers wing done....because I snapped the third, so that prick needs drilled and re-threaded :angry2: Pre-treated the power steering area in WD40 ahead of my next assault, hopefully get a few pics up once I've a bit more progress made fitting the kit! Waiting on the inlet mani vac bungs arriving this week too so should have that whole area tidied up and ready for pics ASAP! Phil.
Nanglebadger
Only took me an hour, but got the 5 bolts around the power steering reservoir and lines swapped out last night...NO BREAKAGES! Good old WD40 pretreat! Anyways, before Rich and Rob and Nick start booing me...some photees: JDM EP goodies: Dress up kit Shifter extension - I'll do some trialing with this and the TRD short shifter to see what I think: Snap off kit: Smellies: Some decals to add to the decal'd up cleaning products fridge: Some of the progress so far - out with the old: In with the new: And this is an oldie that has been posted before but is currently what I am working off as my inspiration: Plenty more washer and bolts yet to fit, along with the other JDM EP goodies. Parts are due back from powder coating next week, vacuum bungs should be arriving today/tomorrow, and once payday comes we should be ordering Meisters. In the words of Rob Bower: "Mega". Phil. Post-posting comment - wow, how shit are iPhone 5 camera pics. Think some higher res pics are in order, apologies! They looked better on my phone before I emailed them to myself for uploading! Phil.
