MK1 GT Snow Edition - Full respray finally
Bluebear replied to aaddzz123's topic in EP80/EP82 Progress Blogs
Shame to hear about all the things wrong about it, but in fairness things can be missed. (Dad taking the GT to its MOT only to discover nearly all of the suspension bolts on the front drivers side were loose was one I personally remember!!) Nice to see a Mk1 saved! Very eager to see what this turns into, with you at the helm I'm sure it'll be nothing short of brilliant. Hopefully there's no more surprises. -

At least the reverse scoop lives on! -
How far up north? If you were any where near East Lancs and didn't tell me, you'll have broken my heart.

Sorry to hear about your family member, helping them comes first and foremost. Hope to see you back soon mate! -
Cannot believe there's only 20 names down when JapFest/Show get 100s!!
-
I have one of these, lovely wheel
-
I want to get a bit of a raspy exhaust on mine soon. As nice as the Japspeed is (Nur spec copy iirc), it's a bit too in your face for my liking.
-
I want a K1 I'm afraid that getting one and then welding the w/g may be sacrilege though
-
Oh god my pants are wet. They look fantastic, the refurbers have done a spot on job!
-
Always liked the look of the first gen RS's. Nice shots mate!

Finally sorted something that had been doing my absolute nut in for yonks on Sunday. Cluster out, old shitty blue and blown bulbs out, and fresh greeny coloured ones from Toyota in. Looks 10x better now. The speedo cable on the back of the cluster doesn't really secure though; the previous owner hadn't pushed the clip back so it's been bent out of shape and won't 'click' any more. Not too bothered at the moment though.

Toffs Cheap Celica T-Sport
Bluebear replied to The Toffinator's topic in Other Motors Progress Blogs
Ah fair enough. And actually, looking online, the TRD ones have a big grille in them, not the awkward raised bit that comes halfway down the bumper; I assume that bit was bodged and fibreglassed on? -
Jesus, didn't know this had happened! What a shitter. Glad that it didn't do a lot more damage than it already has to be honest!!

Mate. What did you do with that front bumper? You do realise that was a TRD one yeah? -
:( You poofter. Best be another GT adorned with a MURX plate in the future!

PTFE tape is used in plumbing a lot. Should be anywhere that sells DIY stuff really. You use it by wrapping it on threads before threading stuff on, ensures there's never any leakage from the thread
-
Lol, I've yet to be pulled or called a boy racer

After doing a leakdown test on Sunday, I'm happy to say that the engine itself is absolutely fine, so I'm not getting blowby. That, coupled with absolutely no oil leaks, and the smoking on idle when hot, only leads me to believe that the turbo seals are on the way out. I still have my old CT9 in the shed, so I'll probably get that sent off to Liam at some point to make it minty fresh and rotated slightly to suit the zisco kit and my hot pipe, and then swap them round. Other than that, not much else has been happening. I think a RARB may be next on the list, and to start gathering the bushes
