  1. You will need to remove the crank pulley, timing belt, sump, remove the rod caps, main caps, drop the gearbox, remove clutch and flywheel assembly and then your able to drop the crank. I don't think the dissassemble is apart of Taggys guide but will show you how to put it back together Don't forget you'll have to measure the journals using a micrometer to find suitable bearings.
  2. Sounds like the regulator in the alternator failing mate. They can be rebuilt, but if you buy a new one its not worth it.
  3. All I have is an address which is posted on the website mate. I also have his phone number. He keeps making up excuses to me such as, the courier lost the shipping information, I recieved and email from him earlier today that he wasn't trying to do any malice towards me, and that I will be refunded with compensation included for the trouble. I'm going to give it a few days and try and find out a date of when this refund will be happening.
  4. Epic Small hatchbacks FTW! The evo doesn't look that quick though, but would be interesting to know the spec.
  5. Hi guys, Sorry for the delay as I have been having exams at uni, so been preparing for them. First off I would like to say I am sorry, and it is a complete shit situation to be in, it has truely saddend me beyond belief that something like this has happened. I'm not a scammer and have had many deals with people on here and TGTT in buying and selling items. I'm not trying to start an argument I'm mearly getting my point across. Both Gee, and Sacha were aware of the manufacturer of these kits, they were both sceptical about sending money without knowing who the manufacturer was, I have nothing to hide nor have I got anything to hide from any member on here. Adding to this, I do not understand why Gee decided to leave it so long before finding out that this/these guys were cons? I done some research on the net and found nothing about the company, other than the address of where they are/were located. I'm not as close to the guys at Zisco as are Gee and Sacha, so cannot understand why their research with the help of Zisco wasn't carried out sooner to save this trouble. Not trying to blame, whats done is done, it is just puzzling for me. It WAS and still IS my responsability to try and retrieve OUR money back, I would just like to point out that not only have Gee and Sacha been victims of this situation, I have also lost the same amount of money, (circa £2200). I have made a complete report of all the happenings that I have been through, ie, phoning the bank, going into 3 different branches, contacting who I need to contact etc to try and get this resolved. I don't need to explain what I have been through as both Gee and Sacha know what I have done to try and get the money back, but for those who don't know it goes a little something like this: I sent the money through the bank, thinking I would have protection from them incase things go tits up, when the shit did hit the fan, I was straight onto the phone to the bank, I was then told there was a chance of me claiming the money back through a fraud dispute. I then went into branch to get a dispute form where I was told to use the phone to ring their office to get one of these forms sent to me. Whilst on the phone I was then told I wasnt able to claim the money back because it was sent as a transfer, rather than a payment. Great, I wish I would have been told this by the bank at the time of sending the money, considering it was rather a large sum! After this I went to a different branch were I was told rather than it being a dispute with the bank, it would be a VISA dispute, once again I was told that I couldn't file a dispute with VISA because it was a transfer, not payment. After phoning Citizens advice, I was informed of a setup called ActionFraud, which work alongside the police to create reports where they will look into them. I first had to issure the guy in Malta with a notice period of intent, to either send the goods, or recieve a refund. None of which was acheived by the end of the notice period. I then made a report with ActionFraud and created a CRN (crime reference number). Whilst creating this report I was told that the best thing to do, since it was an overseas situation was to keep the contact to try and get the money back. I have kept contact and all I keep getting it seems is excuses, and I really don't know how people can sleep at night by ripping people off. I am a genuine guy, trying to have a better walk of life by going to uni, have me own place and settled in a relationship. I would have no doubts about giving both Gee and Sacha back their money from my own accord, the fact is I simply don't have the money, nor will I have it for a very long time. I'm more than happy to send them some money, but I doubt they would accept because of such very small sum, and to add to that, I have been on Starlet sites now for the best part of 3 years, since then I have been saving as much money as possible to gather the best parts for my own build, and I can tell all you guys now the only parts I have are, forged pistons, forged rods, headgasket, manifold, downpipe, valve springs, fuel rail and a set of seats. It has taken me 3 years to gather these parts, so you can guess how long it would take me to gather £5000 to pay these guys off! I don't wish to get such a bad reputation from this, I've been around for quite some time, I have tried to do what is best for all of those involved. I have around 60 emails from this guy in Malta, all saved as evidence, even ones where he says hes willing to give me a refund, yet nothing has been recieved. I also have statements printed off from the bank to prove that I have sent the money. I'm quite confused as to why this thread has come about in my opinion, this is a public forum not a court, but I feel as if it is trying to make a mockery of myself. I respect those people that haven't just jumped on the bandwaggon and started slating to me death like would of happened on other forums. I would be more than happy if anyone has any questions regarding this to PM me, I have nothing to hide, I am a victim of this and not the guy that Gee and Sacha are after. Thanks Adam
  6. Too late Always prefered the evo myself. But the subaru boxer engines sound awesome.
  7. Fuel rail sold. Bump for valve cover, get it before xmas!
  8. The top speed will still be the same as the 5th and final drive ratios are the same in both boxes. Just the C56 3rd and 4th gear will top out faster and at a lower speed than that of a C52 box.
  9. Don't think the material composition of the gears themselves are actually any different. Its just the fact the GT has a longer 3rd and 4th gear, which helps with the transfer of torque. That said the C56 glanza box had shorter ratio's to pull its fat ass, as well as having the extra blade on the turbo
  10. Welcome along, throw some pictures up at some point, will be good to see
  11. They don't adjust themselves they are just the same as a stock ecu with a more aggressive map. Remove the battery terminals and EFI fuse for 25 mins or so, then plug it back up to reset the ecu.
  12. That again depends what the car is used for. If you want it good for a top speed run you will want the friction coefficient to be as low as possible. If your building a time attack/circuit car you will want it to be as high as possible, as it helps in slowing the vehicle down for corners. The average modern vehicle has a friction coefficient of around 0.35, an F1 car has the CF at around 1.2. Massive difference.
  13. Not really, you would accelerate faster, but only if you can get the extra 120 horses nailed to the floor Hence the reason why rally cars are restricted to 300bhp, but they put out crazy torque. A different box is kinda hard as it would depend on what the ratios are. Too short and you'll top out too quick, if you got 280bhp, it doesn't take long to reach 130mph. I believe it would be beneficial in raising the rev limit rather than changing ratios, as long as the engine is still able to produce power beyond the original limiter, especislly against something which can change gear quicker than you can blink
  14. If your still running the stock narrowband O2 sensor, it will fluctuate as a narrowband is only able to respond to the question " is it lean?" if the answer is yes, more fuel is added, if not it won't add any fuel. As long as WOT AFR is ok I wouldn't worry too much. You have done the correct thing by calibrating the sensor.
  15. All depends on the torque curve really. BHP/tonne is only an indication for acceleration.
  16. Not one thats been a direct fitment mate. Most are welded in between a cage or if you wish I'm sure you can get one which bolts to a cage as its easier for removal. Antoher one would be to weld it to the strut towers, although depending on how low down the seat is as I'm sure the harness is not supposed to run anything more than 10 degrees from horizontal. In my opinion if your going to be running a harness, why would you want the back seats anyway?
  17. I think you mean main beam bulb, which on a quad light is 9005
  18. Just to add its not the best way to use a harness as for safety reasons its best to run a harness bar. I wouldn't like to have passengers sitting across a harness either.

    pistons

Why run loads of boost? A higher compression engine gives more power, as long as it is tuned well theres no problem. If your trying to look for a safety margin you would be best going forged.

    4e valve springs

Personally if you was looking to replace the springs and rev no more than 8000, I would buy a set of standard OEM springs. The plug and play ecu's raise the rev limit to around 8000 I think so should be fine. I'm looking to get a spring tester fairly soon'ish so I could well be doing a little experiment between stock and aftermarket types.
  21. Would be good if they did make an appearence on here mate. Plenty of people would be after one if they can make it easy for us to get our hands on one. They could probably make a lot of business if they are able to source the 3 door manuals. I want an 85 though which are now becoming rare as rocking horse shit to find

  23. Yeah when I emailed about one before they wanted to get rid as soon as possible, and even offered me discount price. I was a bit concerned about them trying to offload me something with discount straight away. What was the company name you brought through?
  24. Loss through drivetrain depends on the driven wheels, a 4wd car will lose more than say a FWD car. Also depends on the placement of the engine, if you have a transaxle you'll lose less than if say you had to transfer the power from the front to the rear. Normally for a FWD transaxle will be around 10-15% loss. Your clutch assembly does affect it. Like I said, Dyno's measure the WHP and the fly HP is then calculated.
