  1. Yeah that sounds like a plan to me, I would avoid having to swap the interior loom etc, leave it where it is and look at the pin outs. If you got someone to cut you an interior 16 pin plug off a breaker you could make a harness which would be even better
  2. Don't take my word but I don't think EP91 or EP82 have an immobiliser so you could use either. You could keep your standard ignition barrel but you may have to rewire a few wires to suit, same with the interior loom. I used an EP82 ECU and engine loom when converting my EP70 to 4EFTE. I kept all the interior original including loom, ignition barrel etc, The only thing mine lacks is a speed signal to the ECU but it doesn't cause an issue. The difference being that the EP70 didn't have an ECU at all as standard. Not very helpful I know haha
  3. Good luck finding one, the OEM ones are pretty rare and expensive, best place is on here or one of the facebook groups, if you're not bothered about having an OEM one maybe just get an ebay one?
  4. Ford KA sills also have a similar profile and are pretty easy/cheap to come by. they're a little longer than a starlet sill too which gives you a bit of room to play with
  5. Just remove the plastic that the loom sits in, unplug the injectors and then feed the loom under the inlet and pull the plugs through the gap between runner 2 and 3. the only thing you might need to extend is the plug for the ICV. Turn the injectors gently without pulling them out so that the plugs face the inlet. I wrapped the loom in High temp waterproof PVC for a bit of protection but more to keep all the wires together and tidy. I also put a thin wrap of yellow pvc on the wires for injector 2 and 4 to differentiate them from 1 and 3.
  6. That's some nice peel on the roof. What's your plans for it?
  7. Clean the earth up on the coilpack. Check the coilpack hasn't degraded.
  8. Looks great! where about in Canada are you from?
  9. Not tried Racetech so can't comment on their stuff, but I've always used WEPR. amazing kits, great quality and great customer support.
  10. Do they only come on with the ignition or are they on all the time?
  11. Have you had a good probe with a multimeter? (everyone loves a good probe with a multimeter...)
  12. Sounds like it could be a switched power Vs switched earth.
  13. Another awesome JAE with some amazing people. Thanks to admin for all the hard work in organisation, feeding everyone and generally making it the great show that it is. I was gutted I didn't come on the Thursday but I will be next year. Thanks to everyone for voting the EP70 best runner up starlet. Congratulations to Ian who claimed the very well deserved win! And well done to Hutchy, stunning car! If anyone has any photos can we either post in here or get a photo thread started?
  14. Great to meet you and your mate! and the one and only EP71 I've seen in person! congratulations on the win! very well deserved!
  15. As above, coolant sensor on thermostat housing most likely. Although I had this on my Red GT and a good clean out of the dizzy cap and rotor arm and a new dizzy seal seemed to sort it.
  16. I'll be there Friday at some point so if anyone forgets anything important post on here and i'll do my best to bring it within reason
  17. Yeah can't wait to see yours mate, not seen an EP71 in person before! Few wee updates from the weekend; TPS set up with multimeter and feeler gaugesBase timing set up with timing light Outer door window seals back in Door shut trims back in The wideband was being weird too. It would read fine for a while, maybe 10 miles, then it would flick lean on over run as it should, but when the throttle was opened/clutch was dipped it wasn't registering any fueling and would stay lean. My first thought/panic was that the swirl pot was running out of fuel. Although I can hear the fuel pump in the
  18. Yay looks like it's going to be an awesome project! They are very fun cars. Keep the updates coming!
  19. Thanks, another one saved from the scrapyard! Yeah I was in bits while it was in for test, wanted it to pass so bad! The tester loved it and couldn't believe how solid it was underneath. Going to fit the pulse generator for the ECU speed signal from some glanza clocks though I think, but it drives really well so all in good time.
