Amjad
*Update* Well it's about time I gave this thread a little refresh! Few things have gone on since my last one..5,000 km service time, switched from 10w40 to this and the car has felt a lot smoother especially on cold starts. No particles on the magnetic sump plug either which was nice to see ServiceAnd a mileage pic for reference (still in km) Next bit of news is that I recently made a trip up to see Dean at RWD who made me up a new exhaust system! Here's some pics from the day, some awesome machines at the unit! And now for some pics of the exhaust. It's a 2.5" system, with V-banded silencer/straight through pipe to the Japspeed back box. I wanted to get the silencer too to play it safe with track days. Was pleasantly surprised at how docile it sounds with a straight through though! The noise is amazing on boost though, really really happy with it! Funds were tight so wasn't able to get a new box made up, but I hope to see Dean again sometime again next year to finish it off I also wrapped it in titanium wrap (word of advice, make sure you still use gloves lol). Pops like a mofo when it's warm even in this cold weather and I can't wait to see what it's like when it gets warmer out. Haven't been informed of any flames yet haha Incredible quality of work as you can see, I couldn't be happier with the service and Dean is a top guy! I haven't got a proper video of the exhaust yet, so this poorly shot mash-up of plays with mate's cars will have to do http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0AvIqznHaX0 And finally, I've been doing some rehaul of the exterior lighting to modernish the car a touch. And very happy I am with the result This is a shot of the old LED's on the left and a new CREE sidelight bulb on the right Both done Xenons on Reverse light before/after shot And now the interior units, these are crazy haha. I'll let the pics do the talking! And to top them off, I installed CREE indicators all round. Really like this touch, a lot of 13/63 plate premium cars don't even have LED indicators..here'sa video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oKhxOD6XnFA Having done quite a few miles recently the poor thing was in need of a bath, so I got him gleaming.. Then did a long trip up North to view Mum's new car (I'll upload a thread for that when I get some proper pics) and got him covered in grit dust again LOL Car has *touch wood* been a fantastic, fun, reliable daily over the past few months. Made a good few long trips with ease and I'm looking forward to having more funds to get modding again! Next few things I'm planning:-Uniroyal Rainsport 3s-Polybushing everything bar engine/gearbox mounts (more likely to be undertaken in the summer)-Oil cooler setup (again probably towards summer) Last thing I'll leave you guys with is a cheeky appearance in the Mighty Car Mods UK meet video, chuffed the car made it in! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8VpfSWxo7d0 Amjad

Amjad
Some nice progress dude, those little touches like the lights are cool Looking nice Amjad Sweet Amjad John Awesome car man!!! Coming together perfectly!! Nice mate been wanting to change my interior lights for a while Fantastic little update Amjad, she's coming along now, it's all of the little things. Thanks everyone, sorry for the late response! epic build mate, great read, where did you get all your bulbs from? thanks Thanks! I pretty much got them all from Ebay, just typed the bulb codes and CREE or SMD. Have you gone for the rear tail lights in CREE too? I want to do this to mine but i dont know which bulb sizes/number i need to carry this out, shed any light? Unfortunately not! I tried a few SMD and CREE bulbs but none would function properly as dim/bright. They just went straight to bright when running as sidelights. So if you do find some LED 7443 rear bulbs that work please do let me know! I was going to convert the bulbs to 380 (regular pin style) but the housing on the inside of the light has a metal casing that prevents you from putting in a 380 shape bulbs and I wasn't brave enough to start opening them up! Very impressive read lovely gt and lucky you sunroof and lsd nice. Some amount off work done real credit to you minter. Any update on this love this thread Thanks buddy, it's a while away off where I want it (got a lot of mental plans that need executing lol) but it's coming along slowly! No real updates, it's just been doing me well as a fun daily! Looking to book track time in the summer so hoping to get a move on and continue with the preparation (polybushes, oil cooler etc). Will update when there's anything worth posting! Amjad Edited March 2, 2014 by Amjad

daniel_g
This deserves the trims putting back to the original Advance grey
Amjad
Cheers lads! Yeah Dan that's what I've always had in mind! Came close to swapping for a set of grey trims but the condition wasn't how I'd like it to be. Unless I find another set in the same condition as mine, I'll eventually just get a respray done on the car. But function>form, 'tis a track car after all
Amjad
*Update*Well, had a bit of an incident on Friday night lol. Pretty bad fog in Soton, didn't see a brick/similar concrete thing in the road and drove straight over it eek..front wheel took brunt of the hit and is kerbed quite badly, and the rear tyre also blew out. Luckily came to a straight stop despite locking up in the greasy conditions and full car. Inspected the underneath of the car however and all is well, shocks and wishbones etc all good and nothing bent, result! So now onto happier developments, I recently picked up some rear beam polybushes (55mm EP82). Also went to go see Mikey4410 up in Essex to get some work done.Feedback thread: http://www.ukstarletowners.com/topic/78015-mikey4410-did-my-rear-camber/?p=971452He fabricated my rear axle so it is now fully adjustable for camber (currently on about 2 degrees)! We also fitted the beam bushes and the result is awesome. Despite being on the steelies I can definitely feel a big difference! It bites in corners where it would normally feel like it wants to wash wide and the combo of the bushes had also made the ride better and more solid (in terms of feeling more put together like a newer car). Cannot wait to get the alloys back on to test it out properly! Speaking of, I have a pair of the OZs in the house and I've ordered 2 x Uniroyal Rainsport 3s; here's to hoping they perform as well as their predecessor! I also acquired a set of spare wishbones which Grant is kindly removing the bushes from. They'll then be sent off for powdercoating and be refitted along with my ALK and the last suspension polybushes to complete the set Amjad Edited March 10, 2014 by Amjad

mikey4410
its as been said above really, the axle has to be very precisely cut and then bolted back up.its no secret but not an easy job to do.i have no pictures unfortunatley sorryand hardly a money making scheme lol.
