  1. http://www.toyotagtturbo.com/community/index.php?threads/fmic-comparisons-king-thread.20735/ lots of information in there regarding fmic intercoolers there---seems some of the pictures are missing i personally run a greddy fmic for the ep91, which allows a/c, p/s, stock radiator, etc. to be kept in place, but i'm not sure if these still sell or have been discontinued try WEPR
  2. i moved my bottom pipe on the civic radiator to match the stock hose position and it works fine that way. i know others that just ran the civic radiator as it is (just pulled the stock bottom hose across and pushed it on) and they ran fine with no issues so it seems either way, there are no issues once the coolant flows properly (no hose kinks, etc)
  3. vf28, vf34, vf35, one of these preferably or good old td05......forget the vf22 (laggier than the others mentioned)
  4. personally, i'd stick with WEPR as they work directly with the ep91/82 and can make custom kits---seeing you are going with a top mount ct9
  5. is oil on all the plugs? yeah, may be get a compression test done, it will give your some indication of the pistons, pistons rings, headgasket health on each cylinder oil seems to be reaching the cylinders somehow and is making it to the combustion cycle---this can also come from the valve stem seals leaking, but unlikely to be leaking in all 4 cylinders
  6. check the ICV and automatic choke, sounds like either may be giving some issues i'm not sure where these are located on a n/a starlet....on the turbo model the ICV is on the left side of the intake manifold, while the automatic choke is under the throttle body
  7. as well, did you hook back up the vacuum hose that runs to the MAP sensor? any diagnostic codes?
  8. 04947-33020 try a search with that part number and see what you find
  9. how old is the wideband sensor? fuel pump/wiring/relay failing? do you have any engine diagnostic codes? at 6psi the stock ecu should be well rich wit that set up
  10. that's the only 5e manual i know of online
  11. i've never run ferodo, but i've hear positive stuff about them over the years i run ebc, which i've heard both positive and negative reviews...in my personal experience, they work great i totally agree with you, pads are very subjective items...sometimes you just have to try for yourself...i also think a big part of performance pads is to be patient and break them in properly to get the best out of them
  12. not the glanza mtec discs that you are referring to, but i use the mtec astra front brake disc set up on my ep91 with the celica st202 twin pot conversion. never had any issues with them.
  13. https://www.verociousmotorsports.com/Shop-by-Category/Wastegate-Flanges-and-Gaskets/Vibrant-35-38mm-Wastegate-Flange-Outlet-Untapped may be that site can help...you can draw your own conclusions from there ---see dimension diagram and "type"
  14. personally, i use and like the ultra racing rear ARB ---simple to install and no issues for a very long time now lots of people run whiteline, so they must be very good as well
  15. I've run both innovate (xd-16 and mtx-l) and aem (x series) widebands over the years. I've not had any major issues with either. However, i find the AEM x series was easier to install and set up
  16. pistons can be used if in good condition, but you will need to check the bore sizes of the 5e and the width of the 4efte forged pistons you have, that will determine your next step as they are a few scenarios from there also, you will need new pistons rings, etc for the rebuild the rods from the 4efte are too short for the 5e block---they wont work
  17. where i live, if he runs it as it is on td04 set up on any kind of decent boost, he will eventually break piston ringlands due to our low pump gas quality...i'm not certain in his region how it is and i don't believe in taking chances when it can be avoided. hence i'd suggest he gets the car tuned asap, preferably with the EMB as it can be custom to his set up if you choose to use EMB, then you can run it with the stock ecu as there will be no real difference between the stock ecu and blitz ecu in overall power after the tune ----sell the blitz and make some money or put it down if y
  18. is your car tuned for this td04 set up?
  19. lots of information and pics in there---hopefully you find something of worth to you http://www.toyotagtturbo.com/community/index.php?threads/fmic-comparisons-king-thread.20735/
  20. it appears to be a c52 box based on some older information about the "casing" at the top which holds the selector mechanism 52 had a ridge and hump at the end 56 was smooth with no hump at the end this is just old hear say, i don't know if this is true ---my disclaimer
  21. what operating system is on your computer? the newer operating systems don't seem to work with EMU i also tried partitioning on the newer laptop (windows 8 at the time) as recommended by an IT friend, but that didn't work i have to use an old laptop with XP to communicate with EMU...i think i've used vista in the past (long time ago, so can't tell you with 100% certainty)
  22. i didn't connect them, i left them open as the kit did not come with any blanking plugs for the water ports
